HELP! Those who attended the ITR Expo! Did you use any of the race gas?
All 3 of the silver s2k's that were at the event have developed some strange problems.
We suspect it was the 100 octane gas. I am curious if any of you are having problems too?

Haven't reset the ECU yet... going to in a bit.. My friend is coming over with his ODB2 Connector and Software so I can see what the ECU is saying.
No check engine light tho.
Just concerned that all 3 cars are have similar problems.
yes I ran the 100 octane unleaded race gas (76 brand)

If the 100 Octane was the stuff that came out of the "Unleaded 100 Octane" pump, I used it (4 gallons 100oct mixed with maybe 1 gallon of 91oct) on the first day and have noticed no problems.

The pump was labelled "100 Octane UNLEADED fuel", and I told the dude that was running the pumps that I needed unleaded.
Beyond that, I didn't have any way of testing it....

I also used the 100 oct, actually i pumped at the same time that Garry (timberwulf) filled up. Felt little power increase but not much, little pinging due to the cleaner burn, but also i mix with crapy 91 octinstead of 92 that i filled up the night before. But also my car was due for a tune up . I think you might run in to little problems if you fill it up 95% 100oct, which will throw your O2 sensor outta wack.
Here's alittle info on High Octane gas: http://www.ftc.gov/bcp/conline/pubs/autos/octane.htm

A word to the wise would be to check for water in the gas if you are having problems.....its happened before at the local tracks here in NJ....water in the gas can destroy piston rings...and force a motor rebuild session.....

Looks like he fixed it. Not gas related - his number 2 spark plug was about to fall out. Torqued it down and car is happy.
I'm still wondering why people filled up with that 91 octane BS when the 76 station still had plenty of 92 octane!
