Default Accepting header donation for an ITS Integra GSR. (race car related!)

Anyone in the NYC/NJ area have an extra header that they are willing to donate? During my post race inspection, I found a crack on the 3-4 weld of my DC Ceramic header. It is for a 3rd gen Integra GSR (Stock is just fine to get me back going for upcoming events.)

Anyone have experience in finding a welder who can weld a ceramic coated header? Is it even possible to weld? Probably not worth the $$? Time to go shopping again?

Just sand away the coating. It will weld fine.

I love JB Weld... and it may work to bond metals and claims to patch cracks on the external side of heads...but I don't think it will take direct heat of an exhaust manifold? Thanks for the thought.

mine cracked over a year ago. I got Mitch Piper here in Manassas VA to weld it. It took him about 10min, he charged me like 20 bucks and it has held fine ever since.
Knocking on wood.

So, find out a local cage builder, or good exhaust maker and get it done. even if it only lasts a couple of races, it'll give you time to get a new header.

Edit: where were you a couple of months ago? I tried to sell, then give away a bunch of stock GSR stuff (including a header) and mobody wanted it. Even for free. So I just tossed it all in the trash. Oh well.

I just removed my ceramic DC and it has the same 3-4 crack. It is like ten years old tho.

I would (will) just spray it with some silver VHT 1500 or similar paint after the repair.

Which header is it? I have a two piece 4-2-1 with the lower section crushed in but the upper is fine. If that's what you need, I'd give it to you just for the shipping cost.

http://www.por-15.com has a header patch material if the welding ideas don't work

It is a 4-2-1 DC Ceramic header. Actually I just looked at the header again, it is a 1-4 crack. The 1-4 join, 2-3 join, then all join after the bottom section. I would be interested in talking to you about this offer.
