Default Mini-Me: Auto dx tranny only shifts @ 6300 w/ P28 ecu- why!?

I am wondering because when I did the Y8 mini-me swap, I used the P28 ecu from a 92-95 EX w/ auto tranny. I also installed an 92-95 EX gauge cluster (from an automatic car) cause my dx cluster had no tach. Well I always thought that the P28 ECU was supposed to redline/shift at 7200. when I am revving it out my car will only shift at 6300 or 6400. never any higher. Vtec kicks in at 5000, was hoping to have more than 1400 RPM in Vtec range...
I have adjusted my throttle cable/ pedal and yes the throttle is wide open when the pedal is all the way floored. Is there any way to get some more RPM's? other 92-95 EX owners have said their auto tranny will shift around 7100 RPM.
My only thought so far is that the DX auto tranny could have longer gears than the EX auto tranny, so maybe the computer thinks it is time to shift when it really has almost 1000 more RPM's to go ?
I guess this is what happens when you build a frankenstein civic ?
('92 DX D15b7 bottom end & tranny & TB, '99 EX Y8 Head & IM, '93 EX P28 ecu)
There is one more thing i am not sure I want to mess with, it is the cable going from the throttle body to the tranny. It adjusts in the same way the throttle cable adjusts so I'm wondering if this is the way to get more RPM's when it shifts. any help is greatful!
