anyone using stop tech aero rotors?
seems stop tech has some new rotors available for the R. 2 piece floating rotors with specially designed vanes. suppsedly 2 lbs lighter than stock each and run 15% cooler than stock rotors. also they are 25mm v. 23mm thick, so a bit more meat on 'em than stock but are supposed to fit under stock calipers. seems like a good diea for hard on brake tracks and a well thought out upgrade. price is about $450 a pair though ... anyone use them and have feedback??
interesting. they sent me an email about 3 weeks ago saying they were on backorder ... i did not realize they had been discontinued ... what is your impression of them ken? btw, hear anything about the CHiP list??
They are fantastic for autox. For the track I heard they had some problems with them.
FYI: They are a lot more than 2lbs lighter than stock rotors, I can tell you that.

I'm not sure there's a whole lot of difference between "they're backordered because we're switching vendors and it's going to be a few months before we know whether we're still going to carry them" (all of which I've heard from people at Stoptech) and "they're discontinued". If they start to carry them again, that would be fine by me.
I really like them. I like the whole idea of a two-piece floating rotor - so that, when the outside surface of the rotor gets really hot at the track, it can expand because it's not one piece with the center "hat"; it avoids the stress cracks that develop during the expansion/contraction cycles that the rotor endures from one track session to another.

AFAIK, it's still up, but no one has been posting there lately.
