How did you start riding?
How did everyone here start to ride and can share their 1st experience on a bike. Should I start riding before I take the MSF class or wait until that class?? I'm trying to figure out the best approach to this and i've heard that many people who have taken the MSF class actually has been previously riding without a license. I'm ready to buy a bike now, but I have to wait at least 3 months until the class. Would it be wiser to get a "head start" so that I can go in the class confident or what?
I started riding bikes when i was 16. I know of a lot of people that have bikes but no license or insurance. Knowing those people helped me appreciate a license and the MSF class. I waited until I was 25, took the MSF, got my license & got my 600F4.
Please take the MSF class, it will be just as educational as it is fun. Not to mention you get a cool certification card after you pass.

When I was stationed in Germany in '91, the whole group of guys that I worked with in the hanger had sportbikes. My friend had a super tweaked SICK ZX-7, and I used to ride on the back of it to go places with the group.
So I got my Army/Germany driver's license, and bought a '91 Ninja 600R. Crashed it after a month chasing my boss on his ZX-6 around a sweeping right hander, broke my ankle, broke the bike ..........
Didn't get another bike until '93 when I bought a new FZR 600. Took my time re-learning and didn't go hard until I was comfortable on it. Sold it in '95 ............ want another bike bad!!!!

I have been riding 3 wheelers/4wheelers ever since I could walk/talk. When i was 4 or 5 my grandfathers friend came over on a 80cc dirtbike. My grandfather put me on the seat and gave it a push (Cause i couldnt touch the ground with my feet) I rode around until i wanted to stop, i would roll up next to him and he would catch the bike when i stopped so I wouldnt tip. I had been riding/owning dirtbikes ever since. When I moved to florida my parents wouldnt let me get another dirtbike (Gated community) so I showed up with a 90 cbr 600 f1 "aka hurricane". I rode that a year and a half and was hit by a car/ran off the road. Bought an f2, then f3, then 929 and the rest is history. Bought the hurricane back in about 97-98 and have been riding ever since.
I just finished the MSF class, had a lot of good info. You should take the class first before you start riding, so you don't pick up any bad habits.
