Default Starting problem...

First off the bike is a cbr600f2, bought the bike road for one hour then died on the free way...i know should have bought a new bike, anyways towed the bike home. Got the bike to run again, then ran out of gas. Filled the tank up and tried starting it, i cranked it and heard a loud pop, now the bike won't even start. Could it just be my starter? Don't want to go crazy and start buying all kinds part not necessary.

Thanks in advance...

you shouldn't have bought a new bike(specially if this is your first bike). you probably should have bought a well maintained bike.

First thing... take off your fairings and make sure when the bike backfired that the carbs were NOT unseated.

I am not sure if there is a petcock on that bike, but if there is... make sure it's in the correct position

i actually did all that after it died the first time. i cleaned the carb and everything made sure everything was correct... then i got the bike to run, got more gas tried to start it and heard one loud pop when i push start. i think its the starter but just want to make sure. trying to see if anyone else had a clue before i get into buying parts. checked all the fuse everything still works but when push start nothing happens.
