Went to the track today for the first time
It was a learning experience. I had a great time, and would like to improve upon my ET's next time.
My best run was 15.39
my best trap was 93.25 mph. I was generally dropping the clutch at like 3500-4000 rpms. Anything higher...and i just wheel hopped forever. I was shifting at 8400 rpms. All of my 60 foot times were between 2.4 and 2.5 except my best run which was 2.38
. My tires are Kumho Ecsta 712's. I am planning on getting drag radials before i go again...but is there any advice u better drivers can give me to get my 60' times down and my trap speed/ET better. Oh yeah...My tire pressure was lowered to ~23 psi.

and humid...but is there anyway to bring my 60' times down? What are u guys launching at? and are u guys just dropping the clutch? Cuz when i drop at anything over 4000 rpms, i just wheel hop.
Don't feel bad. I've been to the strip on a couple of occasions in the middle of the summer, and my best is only 15.01 . I must not be able to drive or something. It just takes some practice. I hope my car doesn't suck
lowering 60 foot times just takes practice and more practice.
there is no specific technique as everyone has their own unique way of launching a car.
practice at every traffic light, stop sign, etc. i don't mean blasting to 100mph. but getting a launch to about 20-40mph and shutting it down to drive normal.

do a big burnout get the tires hot and dump it higher and dont floor it off the line , like dump the clutch but it keep the rpms pretty high untill it stops spinnnig which should be quickly if you do it right then lay into and dont stop till the end

Doing a burnout on street tires just makes them greasy. You'll lose traction.

SKip the burnout box... at most do a little one to clean the tires, barely more than a chirp.
Lower the front tires more, and launch higher. I launch around 7000-7200.

yeah, i drove around the water box. When u laucnh at 7000 rpms, do u drop the clutch and gun it? Or is it just partial gas until u get traction, then gun it?
