All my San Diego Honda-tech bros...
Yo guys...I'm here in San Diego from the east and I have no idea of what speed shops are around. Im staying with my lil' cuz's so they dont know wassup....Maybe you guys can help me out? I'm staying in the Otay Ranch area and I just wanna see some hot spots the local racers go to so I can bring some footage back to the east. Thanks bros!
August 3rd is the next event at Qualcomm, and there's an AutoX Sunday (29 June) at California Speedway (about 1.5 hours north). Other than that, hyperfest is holding an event 12-13 July. You bring a car out? If it's street racing, you can go watch them get busted and get a ticket yourself, there's quite a few places they do that on Saturday nights. Other than that, not much going on in next few weekends.
If you're looking for a shop to get pics at, Pann Auto in Clairemont is pretty busy all day long, I'm sure if you stop by there, you'll see a bunch of cars out front. For directions, their number is 858-278-7266. As far as street racing, can't help you there, sorry.
Street racing is a pretty stupid thing to do in SD these days, what with spectators even getting ticketed and having it put on their permanent record...
Dunno what else to tell you, I'm so far out of the "scene" it isn't even funny. If you head out to auto-x at the Q, you can sometimes catch some good action and some cool cars too!

yah...sorry about saying hot spots...i really meant shops to get parts and stuff you cant get so easy in the east. I know theres all that JDM goodness that the east so seldomly has in their speed shop show rooms. Thnks alot guys for your input! ne one else have a local shop in the Chula Vista/ Otay Ranch area I can peep out tomorrow??
oh yah....I love the damn weather here!! Freagin, i feel like super man coming from FL's muggy *** air...i can breathe soooo much easier...i bet yur cars breathe alot easier too.

Honestly, there's not much of that stuff in the showrooms. Most cater to whats most popular (as any good business should do), and there's a lot of big wings, and lights at the import shops in SD. Further down south is Engineuity, they're located in National City, 619-336-1666.
rodrez....thank you! Imma try to peep them out tomorrow and that other one....pann auto...or whatever,,but as fer the autox's i wanna ****** go! but imma be leaving this beautiful place July 5.
I have already seen old roadsters around, like old dudes with domestics driving around with hard core wax jobs...I just wanna see a clean import now.
Well, if there arent much speed shops....ne place i can get like JDM toys, food, mags?? you know like pocari sweat and stupid **** like that....I just wanna get something here in th west to bring back so the boys back home can feel SPL. hahahah

Yeah, head over to Clairemont, there's an Asian market called "Mitsuwa" they sell Hyper Rev, Option, Carboy, etc, DVD's, models, air freshners, all that stuff. If your boys don't know where it is, it's off of Balboa ave in Clairemont, right off of the 163. Enjoy your stay in SD

if i may, i might add that it's on the corner of Kearny Mesa Rd. and Othello Ave. across from In-n-out.
also, you can scope out AEBS and Group 5. AEBS' primary focus is performance so, they don't have a showroom. you can also check out a few of the racecars they have there. Group 5 has a small showroom but, they carry products of higher quality, with the exception of a small aesthetic items.

awww i love mitsua marketplace... Also you can go to Ranch 99 market off of the 805 and Clairemont Mesa Blvd, inside the store called Giga gifts is OK. I got a couple of things there...
Joey joey Joey.....in all reality there is really NOTHING in SD...(
sorry guys) but to find some darn hard earned parts for cars you need to go NORTH...like LA, orange county, and Bay area and all that. I have found plenty of JDM distributers in LA county to top off all these KRAGEN, AUTOZONE, and notorious spped shop going fanatics. 2 Fast and 2 Furious days need to DIE
I am sick and tired of mags showing all this crap.......I am soory folks for all the tension I am blowing off but the only way to build a car is the OLD SKOOL way.....I rather spend 2000 on a set of authentic wheels then a body kit, wheels, graphics and a bunch of neon. So if you like you can check sites out like
passwordJDM.com
autosonic.com
rcrewracing.com and so on and so forth
The best thing to do is just to search the web on sites like
thepartstrader.com
jdmcivic.com
jspec.com
jspek.com
honda-tech.com (of course)
recycler.com
Those are all in realation to finding RARE parts and authentic stuff that peeps have just stored in the garage under their mom's old dresses....hahahahhaha well good luck and rodrez and matt_j are some really good people........
