how to prep lip for paint?
i just bought a type r style front lip for my EK from jdmshit.com they said its made of abs plastic and is black. i know need to sand it down and primer it but what kind of sand paper do i use? and is there a specific type of primer needed?
are you trying to paint it yourself? if so, just go to a body shop and have them paint it for 70 bucks. save yourself a headache and have a higher quality paint job than a rattle can will give you.

you don't use sandpaper on them. get a scuff pad and scuffing compound from an auto body supply store. squirt some compound on the lip and scuff until the lip isn't shiny anymore. then take it to a body shop, where they should spray plastic adhesive (makes paint stick to plastic) and then paint it.

If you want to do it right, wipe the entire thing down with alcohol or this stuff called "prepsall". then sand the whole thing down with 400grit sand paper. then when your done painting an clearing sand the whole thing with 1200 grit paper and then compound and buff it and it will come out like GLASS. Like i did to my car......
but after you go out and buy all that stuff the $70 for the shop to do it sounds better. but the $450 for me to paint my whole car sounded just right.

now installing this lip.. did it fit perfectly?
I tried test fitting mine, but it had a hard time fitting perfectly</TD></TR></TABLE>
if you're talking about the abs dynamics ones, i have mugen front and type r back and they both fit pretty good. for the front i put 2 screws in each wheel well and on the back i put 1 screw in each wheel well and a piece of double-sided tape in the middle of the lip.
