car running very hot any ideas?
i have a 92 lude with and f22b jdm engine and it keeps over heating on me. it started out about 2 weeks ago it would get hot and then i would let it cool down and start it up again and then it would be fine for a while but its gotten worse and worse and now it runs hot everytime i drive my car. I was going to replace my thermostat but i dont even have one and everybody told me that didnt matter. SO i realized my fans werent working turned out my fan fuse was blown so i replaced it and the car still runs hot as hell. I need a new radiator fan motor but i mean mine still works so i dont think that is it. Well anyone with any ideas please help me becuase i am lost.
thanks

make sure that the system is full. run a pressure test, hope to find an easy leak. With the rad. cap off and the system full start the car see if there is exhaust in the system. if there is then a head gasket is needed.
So you don't even have a thermostat installed on your car?? If you don't your car should run on the cool side. Also, I am assuming that it runs hot even when you are on the highway too?? If it does..I don't think the fans are the issue.
I would check the coolant level first. The only thing that concerns me most is that you are running without a thermostat and it is still running hot. That would lead me to believe that there is a clog somewhere in your radiator
Beyond these things it could a bad water pump.
Hope this info helps some.

I would do a complete flush, ensure flow is good inside the whole system, and make sure the system is full with 50/50 dilutted coolant/water.

That would also be the first thing I would try. If there is **** built up in there it would cause that. Also I have heard of idiots putting 100% antifreeze in with no water at all, that causes it to over heat but screws everything. If after a flush and a pressure test it still is hot I would look into the water pump. When you do the flush keep flushing it with just water until it comes out clean.

Run it for a while and when it gets hot the upper radiator pipe should be hot and pressured. If you don't have a thermostat and you still have pressure there then it is probally just the radiator. I have a cooling problem with my crx it always ran hot. replaced thermostats waterpump still ran hot till I replaced the Radiator then it ran fine.

No you don't want to run with 100% water. The mix of 50/50 not only keeps it from freezing but it also raises the boiling point thus keeping the engine cooler without the coolant overheating and boiling out.
