My current setup has limited success:

lol, i like that
.............. well you can go to a local welder that knows how to weld aluminum. He/she can weld brackets that would best fit for your car.

when you do the intercooler piping just weld some tabs to the piping itself about 2 inches from the ends and that should be enough to support your intercooler no problem. that's how my friends is.
tell you a little trick, go to your local hardware store, they have steel straps that you can put in a vise and bend. under your radiator support are threaded holes for 10MM bolts, cut the strap and drill 2 holes into em, bolt em up, make a strap go across, weld it, ( steel) and there you go, somethign to "cradle" your IC back to home.

I'm definitely going to save this picture. You got some good suggestions here. Suppliers like us can't really sell intercoolers with mounting tabs because we would have no idea what kind of vehicle the customer has. Air-to-air intercoolers are pretty much generic. Only vehicle specific applications tend to come with mounting tabs.
BTW, we've welded straight 180-degree tabs to the bottom of the intercooler, drilled holes in the bottom of the radiator support and then mounted it. Shoot me an e-mail if you want to see a photo.

make you sure to align it properly if you plan to duct tape it, it will look better.
seriously, just weld some bracket on it but before you do make sure where you need to put the brackets so you'll weld just once.

The current setup is called working with what you got!!! Very original... I will keep that in mind when I get my new FMIC.
LMFHO!!! I love it man, If u space the duct tape off more towards the sides it might hold up better. I never understood why people wasted money on welding and stupid brackets and tabs...I mean COME ON!!!! DUCT TAP AND ZIP TIES WERE INVENTED FOR A REASON!!! LoL!
