205/45-16 Yokohama Parada Spec-2 or Kumho ECSTA Supra 712? Experienced drivers wanted
I am shopping for new rubber to put on my 16" rims and would like your opinion on these tires.
The tires that fit in my budget are:
1. Yokohama Parada Spec-2
2. Kumho ECSTA Supra 712
3. Yokohama AVS ES100
4. Pirelli P7000
Let me know if youve had good or not so good experiences with any of these...
or recommend any others worth trying.
Thanks in advance,
aJ

I have Kumho 712 on my stock GSRs. I absolutely hate them. They squeal like a pig on any turn.
I have Dunlop W10s on my 16"s and love those. Too bad they dont make them anymore.
I've read a few message boards and have seen more people recommend the Yoko ES100s.

Here is some info on the YOKO Parada Spec-2's. $90 ea. I was sort of leaning towards this one. I hope the additional cost might pay off through extended tread life and handling characteristics. Exceprts from the tirerack (where i will be purchasing these tires from):
Like Yokohama’s original Parada Ultra High Performance tires, the first thing about Parada Spec-2 that grabs your attention is its wild-looking, asymmetric tread design. And when you combine that with its ultra low profile sizes designed to complement the large diameter wheels used on the most impressive street tuned vehicles, you’ll find that Parada Spec-2 tires exude performance.
The biggest reason for the Parada Spec-2’s enhanced performance is its high grip, silica-reinforced tread compound. This new tread compound is molded into an asymmetric, ultra-low void outer shoulder tread design that uses large tread blocks to provide rubber-to-road contact that reduces tread squirm thus enhancing response and dry road cornering control. Massive diagonal tread blocks reach across the tire’s footprint to further increase cornering stability and dry road traction. A solitary, ultra-wide Circumferential Groove helps water flow through the tire while long, helical grooves evacuate water from under the tire’s footprint to increase driving confidence in wet conditions. Internally, twin steel belts are reinforced by spirally-wound nylon strips to provide long-term durability under high speed conditions while reducing weight and providing a more uniform ride quality.
Parada Spec-2 tires feature black letter styling and are available in 45-, 40-, and 35-series; Z-, W- or Y-speed rated sizes for 16" to 19" wheel diameters. Parada Spec-2…Bigger Sizes…Badder Looks…and Better Performance!
NOTE: As a result of the increase in grip, Parada and Parada Spec-2 tires cannot be mounted on the same axle. If mixed in axle pairs on a vehicle, Parada Spec-2 tires must be used on the rear axle with the original Parada tires used on the front axle.

The YOKI AVS ES100 goes for $78 (W Rated) would be more sensible to the wallet and have decent performance to boot. read the description as well:
The AVS ES100 radial is Yokohama’s Ultra High Performance summer tire designed to deliver ultra high performance looks and handling to the drivers of sports cars, coupes and sedans. The AVS in the AVS ES100 radial's name identifies that this tire is a member of Yokohama's Advanced Vehicle System flagship family of performance tires.
On the outside, the AVS ES100 features a high-tech silica tread compound molded into a directional tread design with long tread blocks and a continuous center rib to provide traction, responsive handling, and high-speed stability. Its two, wide circumferential center channels and “high angle†lateral tread grooves effectively pump water to the sides of the tire’s footprint to enhance wet traction and minimize hydroplaning. Internally, the AVS ES100 features twin steel belts reinforced by jointless, wrapped nylon stabilizing the tread area to elevate handling and high-speed capability while minimizing weight. The AVS ES100 radial’s polyester cord body and steel wire-reinforced sidewalls help blend ride quality with lateral stability.
Yokohama AVS ES100 tires feature black letter styling and are available in 60-, 55-, 50-, 45-, 40-, and 35-series; H-, V- or W-speed rated sizes for 14" to 18" wheel diameters.

i got the supra tires because everyone here said they were the best, but i think there average, and i can't wait to put back some Nankangs on the car. The Supra 712s tend to make the car feel like is fridging at high speeds around 80 + ... like the car is going to spin out, its not a smooth ride. And the steering wheel tends to turn left going str8, i had an alignment and tires rotated, but still the same. Don't get them. I recommend, Nankangs.. excellent under rated tires.
My 712s are great...only downside is the noise they start making after you put a decent amount of miles on them...they get awfully loud. I like them in terms of grip in everything but snow...undriveable obviously.
I would go for the ES100's. Good wear, heard great things about them so far...Yok' AVS' have been awesome in the past, and at that price, you really cant pass them up.

I have no experience with anything other than the Kumho's on my GSR... and I cannot really recommend the Kumhos:
1) When you first buy them, they squeal around every turn and offer AVERAGE grip.
2) As they wear, the grip SLOWLY improves, however they get LOUD... VERY LOUD... as in a friend in the back seat of my car wanted to know what was wrong with my car...
3) They really don't last that long... mine are nearly worn out after about 20k miles of highway miles
I do have Bridgestone RE730's on my RX-7 and I like those a lot... I think I'm going to try the AVS ES100's on the Integra once the Kumhos are worn out (getting there quick)

i got the 205/46/16 spec 2's..awesome rain grip..and yesturday they got the good ol' "going 60 and needing to stop fast" treatment...i was very happy with the tires..take curvy road well too...
anyone every had Nankangs..? i had those on my car when i first got it, i taught they were excellant. I never heard of them, but i found they ran for like 106.00 at town fair tire. They are performance tires too. Very Smooth and excellant grip.
Can't wait for the Kuhmos to run out. As for the snow, the supras did handle well in the snow, except going up a hill in more than 1/2 inch of snow.

I agree I regret buying the 712s since day 1 when I got them last year
. my old yoko A520s gripped ALOT better then the 712s. for me I'm going back to yokohama tires

I also have the Kumhos... but on the other hand, mine grip like no other and getting mine to squeal is a task. After a fair amount of wear, my only complaint is the noise.

My last set of 712's gripped really well after about 500 miles. They never got noisy either. I only had them about 18k but that was my fault (too much neg camber) I ended up buying a second set of 712's and these ones suck for some reason. They squeal a lot around tight turns (the old ones never, ever squealed) I'm pretty annoyed that they suck so bad this time.
