Horsepower increase just by changing spark plugs???
I was looking on ebay and I came across some spark plugs made by Denso. They were iridium or something. They claim that it increased 5 horsepower just changing plugs. Those bad boys are like 30 bucks a piece!! Is this a crock or what?
You aren't going to any noticeable gains from just swapping spark plugs. The stock ones work well and the only time I'd change plugs would be for a colder set if I added forced induction. It's a waste of money in my opinion, but if you are so inclined to swap plugs anyways, you can find them much cheaper than 30 bucks apiece (more like $7-9 at most) at just about any autoparts store.
I paid 48 bucks for the entire set from autozone, and I noticed absolutely no difference, so dont get them with the mindset of being able to notice a difference, get them because they last longer.

Right and usually the case is that getting rid of old plugs is what gives you the percieved gain (back) in power.

In my opinion, as new as everyone's car probably is, no, they are not worth buying.

swapping spark plugs doesn't help ur car in gaining more HP. it just gets newer ones in there if you have blown-out plugs. basically you only replace them if you NEED to (or if you got some turbo set up or something like that).
or you can swap them if you don't want to switch them out every 30K miles or whatever. there are platinum-tipped plugs that last 60K miles or more. so it really depends on what you want to see if they are worth buying.
if you want to get more performance in that area, you can get spark plug wires, those will improve response.
