Default oil pan leaking (help)

on my 90 crx si b16a - my pan was leaking a few drops. i went ahead and changed the oil pan gasket and the plug/gasket -still leaking some (very small amounts)
some said i should change it again and try using some silicone sealant as well....

any thoughts?

change the pan too?

thanks everyone - let me know when you get a chance

where is it leaking from?? can you tell?
it could just be the pan itself that has a small hole in it.

although if its leaking from the plug itself, you could try some silicon there, or you could use an oversized drain plug.

How hard would you say replacing the oil pan gasket was? How long did it take you? Im gonna be doing mine soon, so hopefully all turns out well. Stupid shop aropund here wanted to charge me 180$ im like HELL NO!

P.S I dont usually take my car to the shop, it was just in there for an oil change and they tryed to get me to buy into them!

be careful with the honda bond like the old posts say. just a few dabs in each corner is all that is needed. also, i have heard that the honda torque specs are too tight. You might want to try not getting it that tight. If you see the gasket starting to squeeze in any way, its too tight. I have seen many a post about this subject. good luck.

That is true, I know in the one manual it says torque it down to either 8 or 9 and that is way to strong. So just tighten them by hand until there tight.

I've replace my gasket, and it wasnt too hard.
just drain the oil, unbolt the nuts around the outer edge of the pan, then drop it down, throw the new gasket on than put it back up.
and like it was already mentioned, i think the specs are too tight too, i put mine on at around 6, and my manual said 8.
