Default brake bleeding materials

whats needed to bleed my brakes on my civic? besides the fluid. i was wondering where to buy the hose to use on the nipples, or what size. or is there any kind of hose around the house i could use? TIA

edit- i am changing the old fluid out and putting in new/better fluid. not sure if this makes a difference but just to let you know. any how-to's on replacing your brake fluid? -edit

im not 100% sure on this but you will need a 10mm tubing wrench for the front and a 8mm for rear. you can use a box end wrench too. the tube i think its a 5/8 inch ID (inner diameter) you can get that at like orchard or home depot.

anyone correct me if im wrong

Other then the wrenches, if theres a kragen schucks or checkers or a autozone go in and pick up a thing called a bleedomatic. It makes changing fluid and bleeding very easy.

Vacumm hose

Use search to find the best technic, I'm too lazy to explain.

i did it myself. i just leave the hose in the bottle sumerged in brake fluid so no air gets in the lines.

can someone clear this up for me? you put the hose in the brake fluid bottle? or a clear container? if you drain the fluid into a clear container, can you put this fluid back into the MC? if you are flushing out the old fluid and putting in new/better fluid, then you would have to throw away the fluid that is being drained into the container correct? and when the new fluid is draining into a new container, when it is purely the new fluid, can you put in back into the MC to flush the other brakes?

correct size of tubing/hose anyone? or do i just walk into home depot and grab whatever vacuum hose they have? im sure there are different sizes

When you bleed your clutch you bleed from the bleed screw, the screw has a hex style place to put your wrench, you use a 10mm wrench to lossen and tighten this bleed bolt. So outer diameter hex screw...

You DON'T need a friend.
Check out this badboy.

You can pick it up in the Best Buys section for...5 bucks I think?

It negates the purpose to having a friend, and much unwanted frustration.
Edit-BTW it's called a SpeedBleeder.

how does the speed bleeder work? do you have to pump it until the fluid pushes the spring to let loose the fluid?....
