I hope you mean 24x8.5. Those are way too big for the power you have and a stock clutch. Even a 20 inch slick would eat that stock clutch on a 50 shot.
first thing i would do is replace the clutch..stock clutch wont hold up wit slicks...i would put my tire pressure at 6or7 psi wit slicks.....i wouldnt really go that big of a slick but since u alrdy have them use em...wit only a 50 shot i would of gotten a 22 instead of a 24.5..and maybe ur not launching the car at high enough rpms..try launching it at like 6500 rpm and slip the clutch...dont pop it!

I thought the same. I am thinking to use a 22" slick and run about 8-10psi of air pressure in them.

My best 60' on my 205/50/15 cheap Brand-X tires was 2.2... And this was at LACR no less. Those slicks are way too big for your car. 20+/-" for a mild NA car are perfect, 24+" slicks are way too tall.
Do a small burnout in the water box and then a big one after. Hold the E-brake up with the tires in the water box to help you hold the car still. Make sure you smoke the tires for a minimum of 3-5 seconds. The rubber should look like a used pencil eraser if you know what I mean. 12psi should still net you some good times. Stock clutch may be slipping though.
Good Luck!

everyone is right, those tires whether u stated the right size or not are way too big for a stock setup. u need to drop down to 22s if not go to 20s for a B16 w/NOS setup. u dont have any power to pull 24" tires.
