Default civic launching problem..need help..

i had these tires bfgoodrich gforce sports and i can't even launch at 6k rpms..it seems like it's not grabbing at all..the lower i launch the more it will bog..well was just wondering if it can be the teeth where my axles goes in that's not good..oh yea the car's a 92 hatch cx with b16a2 swap..when i had it on my other car(z6) the highest i can launch was 3.5k rpm..so any suggestion what could be wrong..

your launching on the street? ummm why do you think people run slicks??

6 seems pretty high for being on the street, usualy i do it around 4-5 depending what kind of motor/wheels, butt he thing you have to be good at is feathering the gas after you get off the line

what size tires are u running. if u have the common 205/50/15 u should go wider. Do like 225/50/15 and get BFG drag radials. I have a couple friends using them on there DD and they hook up really nice on the street and hes pushin 280+whp. Any suspension work?

running 205/40/r16..it's weird because wouldn't i need slicks to launch high, but with my car as of right now i'm already launching to high and it's not even grabbing at all..seems like i need to launch higher but i'm thinkin maybe it's hub teeth that's screw up..

yeah the last thing this kid needs with a b16 swap is 225 50 15 drag radials

as i understand it and what works for me is dropping the clutch gets you off the line, then YOU need to control the car into getting grip, you just need to go find a empty road and practice different things

well are the tires spinning?? the guy never said the tires were actually spinning..he said "it's not grabbing". It's definitely not your teeth where your axle bolts in...trust me. It's probably your clutch if the tires arent burning out, and it feels like its "not grabbing".

I used to launch my B16 hatchbox from about 6k or so on the street too...and it was the perfect launch. I'd rather spin moderately than bog at all (which means that the motor never dropped below 6k on a launch). There's really no happy middle with a motor with 108lb/ft torque stock...and a powerband that starts at 6500rpm.

Does anyone have any tips on how to squeeze a little more power out of a D16Y8, I don't have a lot of money, any way to tweek with it a little. Someone had told me to advance my timing.

No, don't do anything to it. It's useless unless you plan to upgrade it by way of forced induction. Especially if you want it cheap.
