Nope I haven't, and an intake is an intake.

i bought a CAI from btnz on eBay, and i honestly believe (since i compared them myself) that the eBay CAI and an AEM CAI are IDENTICAL! just buy the KN filter and you got a no sticker AEM

who gives a ****. they work better than stock. your not gonna run 12's with aem and 14's with a generic..they could change your times by about .00000001 second.

intakes dont improve times, drivers improve times......intake will just allow cooler, less turbulant air to enter the TB.......it's not rocket science people, it's just an aluminum TUBE with a filter.......just make sure it's COLD AIR and sucking air from behind the bumper

say you have an ebay intake.
will it provide the same HP and torque gains as an expensive brand-name intake such as Injen or AEM? will it still be considered a "Cold-Air" intake?
i'm wondering

wasnt this just answered? Yes an ebay CAIis the same as an AEM intake. WIth AEM your paying for r&d and on ebay they just copy AEM's design. Same thing, aluminum pip + filter = CAI. As long as it goes behind the bumper, or out of the engine bay.
I bought one from ebay from "xoxoparts". The fit is crap, nothing fits together well. And the guy's a jackass and left me neutral feedback cause I kept questioning him about why what sent me looked nothing like the picture in the ad.

I bought an eBay intake for my Y8. It fits fine. I had a Checkpoint intake with the metal mesh filter and my car was stolen. When I put on the eBay intake with a cloth filter, I noticed my gas milage went up – I get about 20-30 miles more per tank. Anyways, I agree – an intake is an intake and for $32 shipped – you can beat the price.
I bough one on Ebay, and only paid 36$ for it ! my friend went to the local speed shop paid 150$ for his, and mine is carbon Fiber and sounds way better then his.

I just installed one of those inexpensive Ebay units into a 99 prelude. The Fitment was BAD and I hade to cut some off of it. the Pipe Diameter was too big to fit throught the hole and that had to be modded too. The filter seems to be okay and there was a noticeable gain in responsiveness over the Stock unit. Performance wise the E-bay unit was worth the money spent on it.
If you think about it the intake system at any given point will give you an average of about 5-8 Hp over Stock Sure AEM has some Dyno to say otherwise, but what you must realize that it only counts in the REAL world. Dyno's are only a guage it is a Controled environment and the environment can be altered. if you pay 35-80 bux and gain 5-8 hp is alot better than paying 200+ and gaining 5-8 hp
AEM's Filter design is good so you could just get the filter and there
