Jesus, that's harsh. You have to remember that not everyone who purchases a car is a car enthusiast, especially people that purchase Hondas.
As they have stated, the D16Z6 is the single overhead cam model, and all Si's came with it. I believe the Del Sol S came with a non-vtec 1.5 liter, and the VTEC model came with the B16.
Enjoy Honda-tech, and the everpresent flaming!

it's hilarous how one person answers the question, and then everybody else needs to chime in and say the EXACT same thing, just re worded.
It's not hard to se that the question is answered, and call it good.
Now here I am doing the same thing basically

Yes, 1993 Z6 has a plain black cover.
Easiest way to tell if a del Sol D series is the D16Z6 is if the spark plugs are on the exhaust side of the cover, the D15 has the plugs on the intake side.

Yeah it has the sleeper valve cover but the location of the spark plugs and the oil cap is totally different from the 1.5L motor of the Del Sol S. I have a 1993 Del Sol Si. Trying to sell it so check out the sig if you're interested
The B16 motor came out in the Del Sol in 1994 and that is called the Del Sol VTEC. The 1993 Del Sol doesn't have the passenger side airbag or ABS so there is another difference.

It's under your last post because you only quoted part of it. I didn't edit it, check with a mod.

could you explain why (in your opinion)? cuz im planning on getting a b16 swap in my 93si sol, and i cant decide (nor know the difference) between than the b16(crx's), b16a3, or the b16a2.

The B16A3 and B16A2 differ really only by OBD number - the A3 is OBDI and the A2 is OBDII. This is for USDM of course. The A2 from the Civic Si also has a stupid intake tube-mounted IAT sensor, whereas the A3 del Sol had it in the intake manifold runner. Other than that, they should be identical.
Jedi_Sol......I have a 93 del Sol Si and swapped in a 99 Civic Si drivetrain. I scrapped the stupid Civic ECU and harness and used my P28 (chipped) and an ITR engine harness. I also swapped to a del Sol S manual steering rack for weight and liberation of more madd VeeTECK powah, y0!
The thick lines are the B16A2, the thin lines are the old D16Z6......

I may be looking to sell my swap as I plan to gut and rebuild the entire car when I get into our new house (God knows I need the bodywork done!!). If you're looking for a swap lemme know......our timing may work out.
