Saying goodbye for a while. Club racing is on hold
I am sad to announce that I am putting my club racing hobby/career on hold. It was a pleasure working with you guys to bring Honda Challenge to the West Coast. I am sorry that I cannot make it to the Team Continental hosted WCHC. That is going to be a "Bring it on! SMACK Down!" event. Good luck Greg M and John G.
To Mike Q, thanks so much for your tireless efforts to make WCHC a reality and for giving me honor to have raced with you.
To Karl and the founders of Honda Challenge, thanks for creating such a wonderful series. I believe that Honda Challenge will grow and be even more successful.
To the PacNW guys, good luck and bring your best to the TC@THill HC weekend! I am sure the HC California guys will be ready to battle.
Thanks to all of the people who helped with advice, anecdotes and technical suggestions. Searching and posting has made some significant differences in building fixing and maintaining my ITA-H5 Civic.
My life is throwing me a challenge. I applied for and have been offered a 2-year assignment with Sony Corporation Japan. (I have been a Sony employee for the past 5+ years.) With that offer only being given to a handful of people, I have to accept. For the married with children types like me, you can appreciate the challenges of moving your whole family. It's a dream job and a double edged sword.
I guess I will become a JDM dude. I'll actually be in Japan driving a domestic motor. Work and the costs of living in Japan will not allow me to race in Japan. At best maybe I can enter in some organized karting or flying home and race a double regional weekend.

As much as giving up racing must suck, it sounds like you have quite an opportunity. Best of luck in JDM land.
Dude.... sorry to see you go, but it sounds like it's the right thing to do. Just be sure to fire up the computer over there and keep in touch
Congrats on the opportunity! Being single it's easy for me to say this, but I'd go in a heartbeat if my company offered a short overseas assignment. Best of luck and keep in touch.
Best of Luck, Greg!
You were very much a part of the NW/Cal successful planning and your input and efforts were really appreciated!
E-mail me your mailing address after you get settled and I'll make sure you get one of the Inaugural T-shirts.
I'm sorry you won't be at T-Hill in person but you can tune in to hear the results and re-caps.
Again, good luck!

Definately made the right choice. Living over-seas for 2 years would be a great experience. Since you will be in JDM land, would you mind shipping over some of those sweet green Takakkaraa harnesses. Iv'e always wanted them, especially for $300 a piece. *obnoxious mode off*

Greg,
Sorry to see you go. Good Luck @ your new post. I was sort of hoping you would change your mind. As you said, though, it is a very good oportunity with the company.
The WCHC will always have a place for you.

Good Luck. Worked as a District Manager for Kenwood overseas...I know its not the same job but its never ending.
I had to draw the line after almost three years in Germany (Took my brand new 1986 Civic Si over there lol) Then was asked to work in England for a year or so and just came back home.
Its fun yet tough...Have a blast and learn how to play golf thats what all the big cheeses at Kenwood Japan were into.

The very fast Ian who could drive the wheels off of any autocrosser. I remember wondering how did you get so fast. Thanks for the encouragement.
