Default 52 Rear VTEC Pressure Switch P1259 VTEC System Malfunction, Rear Bank (Bank 1)

52 Rear VTEC Pressure Switch P1259 VTEC System Malfunction, Rear Bank (Bank 1)

like the topic says..my friends 2000 gsr (same as mine, less miles.. he has 40k)
got this code or error or whatever. his check light came on and the dealer said
this malfunction is the reason that yer check engine light came on.
he changed his oil and it went away...
does this message trigger the check engine light only when there isn't enough
oil or?
any help would be much appreciated.

Code 52? I do not know that code nor do I show it in the referances.

Most likely there wasn't enough oil in the motor. So is the MIL still coming on?

I threw that code in my 99-00 y7/y8 mini me... Ive been having a bunch of trouble with the frankenstien...but i pulled to the side of the road to check my codes (have snap-on diagnostic pluged in at time) and p1259 pops up... However later it disapeared...could it go off if the oil was fresh? Also, when this code is thrown is there a fuel cut off @ 5000 rpms? cuz there seems to be on mine...heh
