Uhmm, myself and many others use Castrol GTX. It's perfectly fine mineral oil. I see no reason to use a synth oil in a NA car.
5W30 because that's what the owner's manual recommends.
Synthetic because it flows better at cold temperatures and doesn't break down at hot temperatures.
All major brands are IMO similar, so there's no need to pay the higher price for Redline.
Conclusion: Mobil 1 5W30 or Pennzoil Synthetic 5W30.

right now i am using that castrol stuff.
But among the better brands are:
Amsoil
Redline
Royal Purple
Mobil 1
i would use them from top to bottom. The amsoil stuff is great. I will start using amsoil again when my motor is broken in. I have 16 quarts of it sitting in my garage.

Shouldn't be much difference between 5w30 and 10w30. 5 weight will start flowing a little quicker when you start the car(when most engine wear happens), 10w30 has less stabalizers so should standup a little better at high heat, and rpms.
Why do you run 0W30 Buba-Fett?

Hey don't know Castrol GTX I've been using it in my Accord and it's got 184,000 miles on it and burns about a quart every 4K, not too bad and there is NO smoke whatsoever. Dino oil works great... plus I've been reading alot of posts that people who use synthetics burn more oil... for some reason burning oil doesn't sound like it would be too good for the car. Just my .02. Plus is the cost difference really worth it?
Don't think you can really say which is the best. Their are plenty that are fine for our cars, some a little better than others, and more expensive, depends on how much you are willing to spend. I wouldn't put joe blows 99 cents a quart oil in my baby, ya know the stuff you see at gas stations with some weird name you never heard of. As far as conventional oil, honda 5w-30 is fine, if you want to use synthetic go with MOBIL 1 5w-30. Personally i use AMSOIL 5w-30 year round and change it every 3,000 miles, not cheap but my baby is worth it! Its all up to you.
Use 5W30 Mobil 1 in the R (have since first change + genuwine Honda filters).
Rest of the fleet gets Pennzoil 10W30 or 10W40, depending on what I buy. Real dino juice keeps 'em from leaking so bad
