Default Rattling noise with acceleration, especially uphills.

This is a pretty common sound. I hear it on most old cars, but never thought about what the sound was. But my car is making the same noise. With an accelerating jump start, the front end/transmissision/ something is rattling. Playing with the gas uphills will make the rattling noise consistently. Does someone know the part of the and the problem.

it's the noise from the under of the car??
prolly is the shield shield from the cat is rattling

check if your header bolt is loose or something, exhaust leak can do that too..

I'd say it's an exhaust heatshield under the car...

but if the exhaust sounds louder around the engine bay it could be an exhaust manifold gasket leak...

Are you sure it's not detonation? Try putting a tank of premium fuel in and see if it goes away. If it's more of a rattling, metallic sound, it's probably your exhaust heat shield as stated...

I guess its unanamous. Since my exhaust header was changed, I probably didn't tighten that heat shield. Thanks alot guys. I thought it was like a torque converter problem, or the sound you get from a Manual Trans if you don't rev high enough to catch the gear on an uphill, but mines AT.

Isn't it great how we can diagnose your problem without seeing your car, just by majority vote...

Don't be afraid to take a look or rap on your heatshield just to be sure. It's a common source of noise, but there are other possibilities. Check back here if it's NOT your heatshield, so we can have another vote.
