ART Integra Type-R vs 2 hot turbo's!!! Next months MOTOR magazine!
Hi all,
MOTOR magazine from Australia wanted something different in there magazines for once. They normally review stock cars but with the next issue comming out next month. They will have a modified ITR, modified S15 & MY01 WRX. MOTOR's said they wern't going to do a full camparo with the cars but to let readers know more of the potentials of each cars.
In the 2 days of testing, they did city driving, hwy driving and fast twisty roads. More to take alot of pictures of the cars. Also a feel of each car. Would be cool if they did a lap time comparo with the 3 cars cause I'm confident the ITR would be on top of the 3.
They also did 1/4 mile run on 3 of the cars.
Here they are as followed.
WRX - 12.8 seconds (bigger IHI turbo running alittle over 1bar of boost with some other simple bolt on's).
S15 - 13.4 seconds (This car had hidden modifications. We suspect that it had more boost, bigger turbo?, no cat, bigger exhaust pipe off the turbo etc..etc..)
ITR - 13.9 seconds (ART Intake, 4-1 ART JDM extractor's, hi flow cat, Apexi 2.5" N1 piping, Toda (2nd Gen) cam sprockets, ART fuel pressure regulator and a Apexi Power FC. Stock Internals).
We were dissapointed with the ITR's time because of the weather conditions of the 1/4 mile run. Alot of wind and poor road conditions which made taking off with the FF harder than usual. We are confident with this setup that we can run mid 13's. The other 2 cars got to do the 1/4 mile run else where when weather conditions was much better and the straight had a downhill slope which gave them that little advantage.
I've got pics but need to upload them. I'll get that done soon.
Watch out for the next MOTOR magazine issue!! Front cover!
Do you guys get this magazine in the States?

the ART ITR will show everyone wat kick *** ecu tuning can do!!!! something alot of tuners need to learn.
It's a shame Jacob doesn't set up shop in Sydney. Melbourne's too far to go!
Or are you (Mugen_R) & N1 Spec planning on setting up a Sydney arm for Jacob?
p.s. are you guys going to the HSCC track day this weekend? What about getting Jacob up to Goulburn.

Is that Jacob's ITR?
Congrats to the ART guys
Congrats to the ART guys
hopefully they will give us a good review, but i they seem to prefer the SX, coz my Apexi N1 is too bloody noise hahah rofl
surprisingly my car still can catch up with them, too bad i had too much field disadvantage when they test performance of me car.
I recently recieved Best Motorings Type-R legend video. In this video a 96 Spec R race an s-14 silvia in the 400m. The silvia take the R off the line by about a car but by the top of 2nd gear the R has caught and overtaken the RWD more powerful s-14. That to me says alot about gearing and the advantages of top end power over low end torque in drag racing conditions.

I wish i knew who drove that particular Young Gun's type-R. It's a black one. Had a few dings but it's all been repaired.
Not much has been done to the car, it's got a roll cage and with no interior... stock engine etc... anyways.. i'll let u guys know how it goes this weekend!
