Default My car got screwed at the Expo...

I drove 320 or so miles to Buttonwillow, woke up at 5:30 the next moring and went straight to the track. I was really looking forward to putting my heel-toe technique to the test as it was my first time at the track. 1st session I was getting a feel for the course, 2nd session I started to push it, and 3rd session I really started to push it...then I felt a crunch on a 2-3 shift. Not exactly good news with 9,000 miles on the car. I took another lap around the track and tested the shift a couple times with the same result. So after accepting the fact that I had bad syncros, I got off the track hoping that I could make it home and still drive for a week or two until Acura fixes it.

Now this sounds bad, and I was bummed at the time, but what I discovered on Sunday really pissed me off. Are you ready for this? Because this might top the bad syncros and 5.5 missed sessions of track time (or come close at least). When I got to the track on Sunday morning, after my car had been parked in a single file line out front of the motel all night (and never once been parked NEXT TO another car), Chris pointed out a HUGE door ding on my right front fender. Since I washed the car before I left my house and know the dent wasn't there, and whenever it was parked at the motel it was in a single file line, that means that ONE OF THE CARS AT THE EXPO DINGED MY ******* FENDER!! It's not so much the dent that pisses me off (it will only cost $50 and one hour to fix), it's the fact that SOMEBODY AT THE EXPO DID IT!! WTF?? If it had happened on the track, this would not be posted here because I wouldn't care; but it is clearly a door ding, and somebody must have put it there . Whoever you are, you must know that you did it because the dent is ******* big and the door must have been opened with a lot of force. Hopefully you feel a little bit guilty, and if you do, feel free to send me $50 to cover the repair costs...

To those of you that showed up and managed to hang out and have fun WITHOUT putting dents in other people's cars, I had fun and look forward to doing it again sometime soon. Sorry to rant for so long...but the EXPO is the last place I would expect to have my car molested.

I must say that the dent did suck i saw it and it wasn't a normal dent....kinda looked like it got hit with a driver or a something pointy. As for the synchro problem it's something almost all of us have had problems with.....thank goodness for a waranty.

Thanks to for letting me hang out with you guys unger the tent....i got a wicked BADGER sungurn. but it was worth it to me.

The dent could very likely be from someone leaning on your car. Doesn't take much to dent our cars.

Hey Spunkster!

Yeah, that sucks about Bob's dent. It didn't look like a person leaning on it caused it though.

Hows the sunburn?

That suck's. 3 birds relieved themselves on my car over the weekend (and my 8 year old paint is sensitive) I was pissed. California birds are as nice as California people.

Don't worry about it!

My R, GSR that is, grinds from 2nd->3rd, and 3rd->4th also.

And I also have a few door dints too

Thanks Chris.

My car just had some problems due to the idiot mechanics at the dealership...not the Expo. And Dion hasn't had any problems with his car.

I second that remark...
The car is fine..
The only expo damage incurred was a plethora of gigantic bug splats!

No, no, no....the dent is NOT from someone leaning on the car. It is very obvious that it is from someone's door:

What is this wierd noise you're experiencing?? Is it between shifts or all the time?

Speaking of dents... My R got rear-ended today at 55mph..

I was driving along minding my own business when a school bus decided he was coming over in my lane, so I gently jabbed my brakes (no biggie for the R to slow down) and avoided the bus. Then I hear SCCREEEEEEEEEEEEEECCCHHH - BANG!
Some crack head rear-ends me and I pull over. The guy attempts to elude me by taking off. I wasn't in the mood for that **** so I chased his *** down. He finally pulls over when I cut him off and hit the brakes in front of him. He gets out of his car and threatens to kill me. Tells me that he's gunna stick me.. (Stab me I guess). I keep insisting on his insurance info because at this point I didn't care if he wanted to kill me, I was ready to kill him for ******* up my R. I didn't back down even after he repeatedly got in my face threatening me.. (I feel like such a stud). (Actually I knew if something went down my Glock is only under my passenger seat). They guy reluctantly gives me an insurance card that belongs to some lady.. I hope he is related to this lady.. I call up Geico and report it and they say that this lady is the only one on the policy and that I should file a police report on the assault. Like I know who this a$$hole is?!#@! AAARRRGGHH!!

Suddenly my dent doesn't seem too bad... Although I'm still waiting for the a$$hole that did it to speak up and/or send me that $50!

My car and me did great at the Expo. In fact, everything went great right up until the point where my dad pulled my car out into the passing lane to go around the truck on the way home and there was an entire truck tire tread right there. Bang. Cracked the front lip and ripped out one of the mounting points on the main bumper.

Anyone have a perfect condition ITR front lip in PY that they would like to sell?

C'est la vie. Could have been worse.
