My opinions on the ITR expo
Turn out to the expo sucked, There was suppose to be hundreds of Type Rs.
But, I have to give props out to those who organized it though, everything went smoothly and the banquet and raffle were excellent.(I would even go out to say that it was better than driving) The downside is that the turnout sucked, I would not be surprised if they lost money or barely broke even.
Props go out to endless usa- although their tent was small, there only ones there giveing fliers, poster, info about their products
JUN-showed up, but seemed to ignore everybody else, no products, just testing out their B16 motor that seemed to have heating problems. They just hung with themselves, no socializing.
Honda/Acura Club-It seems their idea of showing up is to leave a box of Velocity magazines on a table, but its cool to get a free mag
Hytech-John made a brief appearance with the polished Type R header to show everybody and ride in the Hitech Type R.
DSR-I believe they showed up to tune one of their cars
Comptech-Showed up with their supercharged S200s
There were probably a couple more that showed up, but remained in hiding most of the time
Jdmhondaparts-donated many expesive prizes for the raffle (header, strutbar, etc.)
Typermsm-donated many JDM parts for the raffle
Im sorry but I didnt get the names of the others that donated Brake pads, Underdrive pulleys, Hats, T-shirts, mugs, mouse pad, and cant forget the soloracer.com pens.
Toda sucked-They were suppose to be there and never showed up.
Sport Compact Car sucked-The only sign of SCC was that one of us stuck on their sticker.
All you other guys that said you were going to show up sucked becuase you didnt, and I think you know who you are.
Im glad I am relativley close to Button Willow as it wouldnt of been worth it to cross the country or pay for a plane ticket to come see 50 ITRs (although all I counted was 34). But the good side is that we all got a lot of track time especially for what we paid. Cant wait for the next one

Well, I don't think it sucked... And I only got to drive my car for 2.5 out of 8 sessions!!! Of course I didn't drive 3,000 miles to get there...only about 300.
us "JUN" guy's would have been more social but it seemed none of you wanted anything to do with us. We were busy with our own cars and you were welcome to approach us. Toda didnt show because they were afraid hehe J/K
i need to read more carefully next time..oops..sorry..yeah turn out wasnt as good as it could of been.which one were you..i dont remember?

maybe if u guys schedule the next expo closer to tx or the east coast there would be a bigger turn out. seems like most ppl that came were from the west coast.

Yeah DSR was kinda their. I would have slapped DSR stickers on my car but I wanted to keep it clean since we were still doing work on my car and since we hadn't done any testing with it on the track before. All of the guys minus Lawerence and Tim from DSR were at Sears for the race. Lawerence and Tim came down to check out my car and to do some stress testing on my engine to see if it will really hold up to those harsh conditions. Also it was cool because I had the one person (Lawerence) who I trust more then anybody with my car to be their for the first trial run of my engine and tuning work that he has done. Next up is the brakes (pads and touching up), and the suspention tuning (corner weighting).
...and cant forget the soloracer.com pens.
As for only 34 or so R's showing up, I think thats pretty damn good considering how rare our cars are. For a first effort it was a great turnout, I'm sure future Expos will get bigger and bigger.
I was also expecting more cars when I arrived, but at least that gave us more room to play on the track
We went down on saturday arrived about noon and were still able to purchase the afternoon runs (I was very happy with that)
Unfortunately we couldn't stay since the import autofest show was sunday, and had to be back to cover that (kaila yu, cherie roberts etc..
I look forward to the next ITRexpo,,,,hopefully there is a stronger turnout next time....

Well said Tegsport! I agree fully! Now that people know the Expo was for real and was a awesome time, the fence sitters will probably make the effort to come out to Expo 2, wherever that may be.
Cheese~

I had a great time.
And for the record. Comptech didn't send the S2000's.. They are both NOT sponsored by comptech.
They just came for the track time.

well hopefully in the coming years the expo's will grow to that size!!!
Remember that there are fewer (i believe but tell me if I'm wrong) ITR's in general than NSX's...
