Gauges don't light up, wtf?
I just picked up my '98 DX hatch after waiting over a week for delivery, I get home and realize that I need gas. This being my first 5spd car, of course I wanna run right out and get some. So I hop in, turn the lights on and *taaa-daa* nothing. I tried adjusting the little dial, but it didnt help any.
So now I'm screwed for night driving, any ideas on what could be the problem?

Well a few things. Connection to the lights. There might be a short from the wheel where you turn them on to the bulbs. Or the bulbs could be burt out (Not likly). Maybe there is something messed in the dimmer switch also. Unless you know you **** about electrical, take it somewhere. It's not hard to check if you know what your doing.
On my '95 the dimmer switch (with the wheel) has a bad connection...sometimes the lights cut out altogether. I pulled it out and sprayed it and the plug down with electrical contact cleaner, which helped some. Now if it goes I just whack it and it will come back on. I really should hit up a junkyard but I'm lazy
In your case I would check fuses before anything though...you can also remove the instrument cluster and make sure the connector for the lights is plugged in...

eh, im a lazy ******, i'll just use the warranty. Although, I do need to swap in an EX gauge cluster so that I'll have a tach. Maybe I'll just do it all at once.....
