As above, how do you rate them, or do most ITR owners not even consider them??? (I own a JDM Si-VTEC (GSR))
the ITR is the greatest kaaa on the planet, every other car is below us. if it's not an ITR i don't even look, i just give it the finger and drive away...
The ITR is an amazing front wheel drive sports car! I only realized this after taking the car to the track.
The car has the goods: an LSD, double wishbone suspension, close ratio 5-speed manual transmission, and a 195HP motor. I didn't consider any of the other Integra models when I purchased.
The car had everything I was looking for. A car with back seats. (I have dogs that like to come on short trips with me), reliable (Hondas have a good rep for being reliable), would be exciting to drive everyday, (8400RPM redline :D), LSD, and some power.
Ulitmately you can make a car whatever you want it to be. It just so happened Honda had a car that suited me.

Many of us have owned both, and some of us still do. My '94 GS-R is still in the family along with my '01 ITR.
As a commuting car, as a bad-weather car (using winter tires in the winter), as a hauling-big-stuff-and-dogs car, as a reliable car, they are virtually identical.
As a track car, the ITR has it all over the GS-R; there's no comparison at all.
If I didn't go to the track, it wouldn't make a whole lot of difference. But I do, and it does.

i've owned a 95 4 door GSR, 99 LS Coupe and now i have an ITR. I liked the GSR and the LS but the R is a totally different car. I feel like I settled for the other two when deep down i really wanted an R. Either way any of the Integras are great but the R is the best.
I had a 00 GSR prior to my ITR..... I really enjoyed it the whole 5 months I had it.
I had a bad disease for a while..... I like to call it, ITR Fever

I owned a GSR prior to owning my R. I never believed everyone when they said it was a night and day difference. I was completely shocked to find out that it in fact was. I considered my GSR fast, and it was a very capable car, but nowhere near the performance levels of the ITR.
My advice to you is if you want a very capable car that doesn't carry a hefty price tag, invest in a GSR. Or, you can just buy an LS and invest in some boost

My opinion... Some Integras were meant for women to go get the groceries in. Some were meant for spirited street driving. And a few thousand were built to be streetlegal race cars. I dont think theres any comparison between any of them besise they all look similar.
After I ordered my '00 ITR in August of '99, I asked the dealer if I could test drive a GSR. He threw me the keys and I played for a while. The GSR is a great street car and I would have one for a daily driver in a heartbeat if I didn't have an MR2 which is a wonderful commuter car. The GSR is just a more civilized Type R. more sound deadening, cruise control, sun roof, leather. It's a great car if you are not a performance nut like most of us, here.
I've also autocrossed several RSXs. Both Type S and regular. Very solid and well put together. More civilized than the GSR. I did not like the VTEC kick in the Type S. It doesn't sound right. Also a nice daily driver but I would lose the stock tires and probably raise the spring rates and lower it an inch.

-Well put Grandpa.
I think all hondas are great cars and before I drove the ITR, I drove a 2000 Civic Si which I did lots of quality suspension mods on(I loved It).
When I purchased the ITR, I sold the Si to my younger brother.
The difference between the two is night and day. Now if I take my old car out for a drive it is boring to me. The thing feels super sloppy and it doesn't seem as cool to me as it once did.
ITR kind of in a league of its own
Just my feelings

After driving the EVO, STI, S4, SRT-4, Mini Cooper S, civic Si, and GSR. The Type R is is hands down the most FUN to drive and capabable car out of all of them. Its definatly the best car under $25k or even $26k. I'm having trouble deciding on giving mine up for an EVO cause its just that freaking good. The car is also telepathic when communicating with the driver. None of the other cars even come close in regards to that. The engine note alone puts the car in another class (kinda sounds like a mini ferrari) but the steering and feedback is what makes the car shine. The gear box is a MASTER PIECE, I haven't found another car with such a perfect gear box (mine has ATS final, Toda flywheel, and exedy clutch). The throws are perfect along with the gear ratios. Styling, well in Yellow its dead sexy cause of the uniqueness and lines. This car is badass, I'm STILL debating on what to do with mine but I know once I sell I'll be sad to see it go.
Well I started out with a 92 GSR, then to a 95 GSR, a 2000 ITR, and now a 02 RSX. I have to say that it is obvious that I love integras hehehe..
If only I had an ITR now and not this stupid RSX

great, another thread for elistist ITR drivers
I have driven several friends ITRs, and none are more fun to drive than my GSR. In terms of performance, they have nothing on me either, in the corners, or on the straights.

stock for stock, the ITR owns. I wanna see a 204whp ITR vs your 204whp GS-R and see what feels better and compliant.

ITR is the best sports car in the world.
Being a FRONT wheel drive, it is a true pure sports car.
Being a 25k car, it is an exotic car in level with Ferrari's.

Stock for stock, its a no brainer, the ITR wins hands down, but how many integra owners leaver their cars stock? If you are going to mod everything (and I mean everything), then why not consider other integra models. Does the additional reinforcement of the ITR make that much of a difference by the time that you have modded everthing (suspension, brakes, swaybar, motor, tranny etc)

Most ITR owners dont modify the suspension. Those that do are either hard core racers, or doing it for aesthetics.
Noone modifies the brakes, or swaybars.
I've never heard of anyone modifying the tranny.
Obviously a lot of ITRs get the get motor work, but most only get the header/CAT/intake which can be had for $1000.
So my question is, why buy a GSR and spend thousands on it, when you can get a better car for a few thousand more, and not need to modify it at all?

There are lots of ITR owners here running spoon calipers and different pads. There are also ITR owners running the Mugen 26mm bar, or the JDM ITR 23 mm bar and lots of different coilovers. I have seen Mugen lowdowns, teins, zeals, and buddyclub.

What do you think adding the JDM ITR final drive or the ATS final drive is? There are also people running the ATS close ratio gears

Well if you are particularly attached to your GSR or lesser Integra, and you do the mods over time, then you do not even notice the money being spent on mods
It all comes down to how much you plan on modding the car. If you plan on just mild mods, then the ITR is the best, but if you plan on reworking most things, I do not see why a different model integra should not be considered

True. Also resale is a consideration for some people. If you buy a GSR for $14000 and put $5000 into it, or if you buy a ITR for $18000 and put $1000 into it. The ITR you will be able to sell for $18300 probably. The GSR maybe $16000.
Same goes for insurance.

when people compare ITR and GSR in terms of price, they use MSRP.
ITR's are sold at best, MSRP or $500 over bringing the price tag to about $25.5k
Someone has to be out of their mind to pay sticker for a GSR of around $22.5k so it is not really a "couple" of thousand difference in price.
In 1998, I paid $19,090 for a brand new GSR plus tax and fees.
I'll take an ITR anyday but living in the SF bay area, the threat of theft is too much.

insurance for a itr as opposed to my gsr was an extra 5 dollars a month. i am also 19. i think most itr owners would not have any difference in insurance from a itr to a gsr. this is with state farm, and perfect record.
