finding oil down spark plug tubes; d16a6
I had my head rebuilt a few years ago by an acura dealer. The engine works great except that oil slowly builds up in the tubes where the spark plugs go. It's only on a couple cylinders. Where is it coming from? Isn't coming from the cumbustion chambers, isn't coming from the valve cover ring gasket, so where is it coming from? Anybody had this problem? Know what causes it or how to fix?
It has to be coming from one or the other, unless your got a crack in more than one of those cylinders. My bet is its coming from the spark plug valve cover gaskets, theyre like $5. Grab some hondabond and put a small layer in the gaskets, works perfectly. Otherwise make sure your plugs are torque to spec, 13lb.

I have this same problem with my #2 cylinder.
I replaced the 4 ring gaskets and the valve cover gasket but did not use any sealant.
the bad part is that the #2 cylinder still leaks oil, just not as much. =\

Hondabond does wonders, also after you do the spark plug gaskets put some at the corners where the camshafts are before you put the valve cover back on...another place it loves to leak at.
