Default 98 CW Type R Price...

Hey, I am looking into finally buying my first Type R and I was wondering what a fair price is to offer this guy. He has a 98 CW Type R. IT is pretty good shape in the body not really driven much since he has owned it, however the owner before him (that I also knew) has put a WW 3 piece wing on it and sold the stock Type R wing. Now he works at Honda and can get parts for cheap if I or he ever needs anything and like I said I know it hasn't been driven much by him (or his girl) but was used as a daily driver before him (that's why I'm not sure of the miles on it) but I recentlly asked him if he would sell it and he said "sure, I'm not really using it at all..." so he said for me to come by and test drive it and see if I like it... But like the topic says what should I offer him when I go up there.

Thanks,

Sean C.

I think that type-r is worth only about 14-15k. His "girl" has been trying to get another car for a very long time! Its a lost cause trying to get his ITR. THere is a guy in NC trying to sell his '98 for very cheap with quality parts on it. I dont think an ITR with a red carbon fiber stick on dash and three piece wing is the greatest buy in the world. I'm just trying to warn you before you get your hopes up.....

Hey man, I appreaciate it. By the way, are you the guy who has the SSBP Prelude? I live right around the corner from where Charles (Used to be green, now white 92-95 hatch) used to live in Courthouse. But yah man, thanks for the advice... Any details or #'s for the guy in NC or how far away it is? Thanks again and give me a call if you have any more info.

Thanks,

Sean C.

more CW ITRs in the hampton roads area......

if i would was to sell my R, i would probably sell it around 16,5 or so. i guess it really depends on how much people are willing to spend.

Yah, Noel sold it to T's girl which bought it for T for Valentines day (I told him he better never get rid of her...) then T got a Prelude with an H22 swap in it and didn't really drive it anymore, then he sold that and bought a Toyota Twin Turbo Supra and that's his new baby so his girl drives it around every now-and-then but primarilly drives her car (have no Idea what that is...) but yah long story short it was noel's old car and I test drove it then when he was selling it for 17k but T has since then addedc a DPR Stage V head and rebuilt the motor when he put the head on it. Well thanks for the advice.
