Im getting sick of ppl comparing the rsx-S to the R...
Yesterday on autoweek, nothing but crap talkin about the R. How the new S is roomier than the crammy R, better handling, etc.. BTW 5 more horses. It is so obvious that the RSX was made for the older consumer. Its more of a grocery getter than a performance vehicle. Then "the front McPhearson strut assembly will not be popular with the Integra/import enthusiasts" Whatever! Have you seen it up close? the quarterpanel resembles the new Celica's. Pop the hood, and you will notice the gaps on the inside of the fenders like the new crappy Civics to make the car look bulkier. That engine compartment is sooo cramped and sloppy looking, there's no room for improvement.
Just like Mitsubishi selling out by redoing the Eclipse to get older consumers, because according to Mitsubishi, "The current style Eclipse will attract the older crowd, and that's what we want, because the older consumer can afford to buy them. These younger import consumers only buy used, and can't afford to buy new, and we are not making any money."
I just don't like the RSX being labeled "Race bred" like the Type R. If it was, it wouldnt have that goofy subwoofer attatched to the spare tire.
The Integra became Acura's shame. All the other Acuras are Luxury bred vehicles with the exception of the NSX, but then look at the NXS's price tag. They needed another snobier looking car to fill up their line of snobs.
My first new car was a shinny new 1986 Acura Integra, my second was a new black 1991 Acura Integra. My third was a 1994 Acura Integra, my fourth is a 1998 Acura Integra Type R. My fifth will be a Race bred Mustang Cobra R... Well, maybe not, but it sure wont be an Acura...
Sheesh! Ford made an R. With no radio, no sunroof, performance engine, big wing, suspension, limited edition, limited color, etc... Wonder were they got that idea from. And all 300 are spoken for.
Wondering if all the new RSX Type S vehicles are spoken for like when the 97 Type R's came out??
But hey, Just my opinion you know...
I'll keep my piece of history and enjoy it.

I agree completely. I crawled around the entire RSX and was not impressed...
The gaping holes in the wheel wells where moisture and dirt from the wheels will be thrown all over the engine compartment (to cook onto the exhaust manifold), the hefty price tag(for a optioned type-s) the flappy rubber crap around the gauges, and the bastardized half civic/half celica body. I feel the RSX will go the way of the new body eclipse(designed for, marketed to and sold to older people.)
I never saw a truck full of type-R's yet, but on the way down I-5 recently, I saw 4 different trucks FULL of celicas...whoops, I mean RSX's.
This is why my Girlfriend just bought a new GSR instead of the RSX.

Guess you'll snob the RSX Type R when it gets here too then? Why are so many ITR owners upset over the new GSR replacement (Type-S)? Get over it.
We had to wait for the Type R the first issue, we're going to have to wait for it again. You should be happy about that because at least you won't have to cry in your beer about how the new R just destroyed yours at the last race event.

haha i agree
the type R was made for racing
the RSX was not
they're both nice vehicles...we should appreciate both of them though
i guess the rsx type S should be compared more to the gsr since its the replacement

Someone needs to hand out tampons to all your girls. The R is better, so who cares what anyone else thinks? When the RSX-R comes out, we'll have something to talk about.
What he is yelling about is that people are comparing the Type S RSX to the ITR when it should be compared to the GSR not the Type R and the only reason they do it is because it has 5 more ponies then us and it does get annoyyin!!!!!!!i'll take that tampoon and shove it were the sun doesn;t shine on u!!!!! lol jk

Yes I will "snob" the new RSX type R when and if it comes over, If they don't fix the obvious crap thats wrong with the standard RSX. Who cares if it's faster than the existing type-R, I don't! Hell, it better be for being 3 model years newer, as well as nearly 6 thousand dollars more expensive!
All we want is for the RSX owners to quit comparing their vehicles to the type R, because it simply isn't one!

Everytime a new car comes out, people are comparing them (ex: WRX)
I'm starting to get sick of all these posts about the RSX and I'm also tired of these posts about how sick you are about them. I know people are gonna start saying if you don't like it don't click on it, that's exactly what I did about the RSX vs ITR posts but now people are starting to make these I'm sick of this and that posts which are even more annoying
It's like a flood

One of the reasons that Acura compares the RSX-S to the ITR is because of the sales. Think of it this way, if they say that the RSX-S isn't as good or better than the R, then people would just get the R. Since the RSX-S is a new model, if people still buy the old generation over the new, then it makes the new model go bad. If the sales go bad for the RSX-S, then forget thinking of having the RSX-R over.
The RSX-S main competitors is the Celica GTS, Subaru WRX, upcoming Sentra SE-R Spec V and Ford Focus SVT. Since the ITR is the new standard for performance vehicles in the FF compact class, it makes sense to compare the RSX-S to it. If Acura do not tell the public that it has released a "better or just as good" car (also a new generation), then people will not have confidence in Acura as the whole manufacturer.

Just get a McLaren F1 and quit the bellyaching. This way you won't have to worry about anyone comparing it to another car because is the best! Ha!
The RSX-S has many features that are "better" than the Type R. It's stiffer, has a more powerful and lighter powerplant (torque in particular), and a number of improvments that are inevitable when a company replaces a 7+ year old design. That doesn't make the R any less fantastic, I'd say it highlights what a great car the ITR was (is) to begin with. Those of us with the Type R have a car that is the pinnacle of the american Import scene, an affordable, useable compact that also screams on the track. If things continue, there's going to be some even more impressive cars coming to our shores. That's fine with me, power to Honda, I hope they're even more successful with the RSX than they were with the Gen3. But just becuase there's newer dogs on the block doesn't mean we're obsolete....people who keep their Rs (and have the money to get something else) will be doing so because they savor what the R does have, and it's a pretty unique blend. Be proud to own such a unique car; people don't sell early-model 911s just because the newer ones are faster.
We should all be happy that everyone uses the Type R as the measuring stick for other performance vehicles. The true test is when the next sporty car comes out by a manufacturer will they compare it to the ITR or RSXS.
I say foget about what the people are saying.
For me its not so much the car, but the fun you get driving and racing it. A car is just a car...just have fun with yours and the hell with what people say

they've compared every single sporty car to the type r, so why should the rsx be different? we didn't mind when the wrx was put up against the type r. every single comparo with new cars still rate the type r as tops. i'd prefer the type r to slip into anonymity so maybe i could hold onto her for the next 10 years like i plan. i'd just remind people of the type r when at the track! let the thieves go after rsx's and celicas. just be happy you have the car to which others are measured against.
I see the comparison to the ITR as a good thing. This means that Acura (Honda) is improving their technology. It's kind of scary to think that the Type S is second to the new R. It really makes me look forward to seeing it arrive here in N.A.
Also, I feel that some people (not you) are bitter that they just bought the ITR and then a better car (according to some journalists) comes out to the market. It's natural to feel a little disappointed and have some doubt.

I'm sick of all the ITR owners getting their panties up in a wad over these unfavorable comparisons. Don't get me wrong, I LOVE ITR's...why do you care so much about what some unknowledgable journalist has to say? From the looks of it the RSX-S might be a slightly faster car and probably is, doesn't mean it's more sporty though...don't be so insulted. Don't blame Acura for releasing a good vehicle...have joy in knowing you own an awesome great-looking classic limited edition car.
Exactly my point!
All these little boys and girls are offend if some says the RSX is faster. We all know it is, so what? Good for the RSX owners!
All the time I have the ricers tell me how fast there Civic is and how they take down Type R's. My reply is, "Good for you. Isn't your moma calling you or something?" Basic case of ***** evny!
Ohh! used the 'P' word, this topic my get deleted too. Look out.
