Aluminum still oxidizes. Especially in rainy North Van.
You will probably have to remove all 4 coilovers from the car if they're seized that badly.

And a little heat.
And a little heat.
I unseized my HAs by removing them, putting them in a vice, spraying Liquid Wrench (then WD40 when I ran out), and heating them with a torch. Then I used the Tein wrench tool and hit it with a rubber mallet. I hit it and hit it and hit it and hit it. Then I sprayed it with more Liquid Wrench and hit it and hit it and hit it and hit it. Then I heated it with a torch, then I hit it and hit it and hit it and hit it.
It took about an hour per shock to remove them! Just be patient and they'll eventually come off.

i would think the seals inside the damper would be damaged by that much heat.</TD></TR></TABLE>

Im sure they are more than willing to help.
who is happy that tein is 15 minutes away on a freeway .

this probably isn't going to be helpful with your immediate problem, but in the future, you need to don't tighten the perches. lock them together by hand, and they'll never slip. most likely you won't have so much trouble the next time you need to adjust the height.
4 words should fix your problem:
Ground Control or Koni
Stay away from that crappy JDM chit - (just kiddin')
But in all seriousness, the JDM stuff is kinda high priced and doesn't seem to have the workmanship, design or tuning to justify the price.

I would call Tein first before trying anything yourself!
If you damage the coilovers by trying to repair it yourself, then it's possible they might give you a hard time if you send them in to be repaired.
Just a thought.

some people just take the weather or the climate we live in for granted.
In Vancouver we must have some of the mildest weather in Canada but the winters, as well as the rain..... whatever it's just crap on parts sometimes.
Agreed with Steady that a race damper needs to have a little more maintenance than a standard damper with regards to keeping it clean so you don't have these kind of headaches.
Hasn't ANYBODY heard of Anti-Seize???
I could move to So.Cali Arizona and I'd still use this stuff!!!

Next time make sure you clean them off regularly and spray some WD40 on them every month or so. I even do that with my GCs and their perch is about 600x better than that locking collar bullshit.
I had the same problem with my HA's. We tried the heat and what finally happened is that the rings broke in half. I had to buy replacement rings for all four shocks. Just keep them clean and you should be fine....
