Hey I know I am gona get bashed for this I don`t know too much about cars but I do know a little. I am 16yrs Old in Ottawa Canada and drive a 2000 ITR. Now What should I do with my engine for its best performence. I mean I want to go faster quicker hehe. Help me out if you can. What type of cams, headers, exaust, should I get what else can I do to make my car fast .... I know I am gona get kncked for this but I want n0s but I heared the compression in our cars is way to high? Anyways Thanks alot if you can help me out.

Learn to drive it. Then when you turn 26 and have a career job you can start to think about mods.

In the mean time just take off the resonator and advance timing 2 degrees. Free mods never hurt.

 

Accually My parents paid for half the car for my b-day present so I am only paying about 20g's I have about 12,000 in my bank right now and make 24.65 an hour ... So I think I can afford some mods... Don`t under estimate the young.

Learn how to drive it. both drag and autox. Know the cars limits and appreciate the R for what it is first. Prove to the car that you are worthy. i think way too many people start modding too early.

please learn to drive it first. You are 16 years old and have not been driving for very long. In addition to performance driving, I am sure you still have much to learn about driving in general. learn things like launching, double-clutching, heel-and-toe downshifting, trail braking, before you go crazy with cams, NOS, etc. I have heard of great drivers in stock R's beating mediocre drivers in R's with 200hp at the wheels. It may sound cool to your friends that you have NOS, but being able to beat a faster car with your driving skills as your only weapon carries the best bragging rights of all.

 

Do what you want too. It is your car and your right. The only reason these guy's give you trouble is because they wish they had been as lucky as you when they were 16 (I know I do). I am not sure of your intention's with the vehicle or how much money you want to put into it but I will suggest the basic's. 1. dont and I repeat DONT, put a Jackson Racing Supercharger on the car, it ruins a good motor. I would suggest looking at a nice street legal intake header exhaust combo like maybe an Comptech icebox, filter and tube, A high quality header such as a Greddy or a APEXi or a DC sports SS header. As far as exhaust goes you dont really need an aftermarket one but the APEXi N1 and the 5Zigen fireball are my personal favorites. The first mod I recommend is a JUN or Toda Ultra lite Flywheel. That is the best mod I have performed so far. I always recommend N20 it is a quick way to go fast but it is not in character with a Type-R. Investing in a driving school is an excellent Idea, so is going and running in some local SCCA event's and maybe taking it to the Drag Strip every couple of months or so. Dont push the car to it's limit for a while I say this because 1. you are 16 and have little to no driving experiance 2. you have a very capable and forgiving car BUT it is a streetable race car and can turn around and bite an inexperianced driver in the *** and 3. Police dont like seing 16 year old kids rolling around in shiny yellow sports coupes driving like idiot's. And dont go street racing, I did and I got Addicted to and Illegal activity that could harm myself and other's yet to this day I am unable to stop.
