Default Help with removing metal O in Hub so axles wont bind

Hasports site says to remove the metal spacer, how do you get it out? I tried with a screwdriver, it didnt cut it, any help would be great!

What metal ring, if your talkin about the snap or set ring, at the end of the spindled end of the axel. That has to stay there it helps the axel from popping out. Heres a link to a pic, so you can help better explain it.

http://www.hasport.com/News/Ar...s.htm

they show a picture of it being removed from the hub, not the axle. It is a metal ring.

Ohh i have never noticed that... im guessing that the spindled end will sit against that, after you put your spindled end through the hub.

Fawk you learn something new everyday, when in doubt, get a hammer. With a older car like that a hammer may very well be your best friend.

i didnt take it out... if you put the nut on with the axle like that it locks up and wont turn, i bought some large washers and stuck 1 or 2 on to keep from hanging up and not turning. i used 90 integra axles i think. b16a in crx by the way i run 10psi on the engien and they havent broke or whatever yet so i think it will work for you.

How do I get it out ( the metal O spacer) ? So your saying once you removed it, your axle would lock up?

They should be fairly easy to remove. Try using a small pry bar to catch the lip, then just pop them off. if they're heavily rusted spray a little break free on there and let them sit for a couple of minutes, then pop them off as described above.

Either way they should come off easily. Mine came out with no problems.

i never removed the "metal o in hub" i just put axles on and it locked up a bit so i put a few washers on the axle shaft and slid into hub.
