Air/Fuel Ratio Gauge Install for '01 ITR
Sup sup.
I'm wondering if you fellow ITR owners can help me out.
As the topic suggests, I'm trying to install an air/fuel ratio meter (Autometer). I've gone to Autometer's web site (I've also searched on this web board) and the directions are simple. Just tap into the Heated Oxygen Senor wire on the ECU. So I break out my Helms and I locate the connector (16P) and wire (D7 or D14 (one is primary, the other secondary)).
When I go to install it, there is no 16P connector. I have the 32P and 31P like the manual says, but no 16P. Instead, I have a 25P connector. Is there a white wire on the 25P connector? Yes, but I'm not sure if that's the one I'm looking for.
I could always connect to the green wire down by the cat but why go through the firewall if I don't have to?
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

personally i'd splice it right by the O2 sensor, not on the ECU harness. Splicing into the ECU harness and byebye warranty, dealers hate that.

I always tap into the ECU for the O2 sensor wire. In the cars I've installed A/F meters on, when using the ECU harness close to the ECU I only get 2 LEDs lit at a time, when I first hooked up my A/F in the Quest I did it to the O2 sensor by the O2, not only did the wire need to be shielded it was still inaccurate compared to the ECU method (4-6 LEDs). I've never hooked up a A/F meter to a Honda but I'd imagine similar problems.
I'm sure the dealer would dislike spliucing into the ECU harness but if you use one of those blue splice connecters that have the wire side by side (polly not the MOST accurate due to voltage lost by the connector..) where you push the metal "bar" down and snap a cover over it (sorry forgot what those type of connectors are called, they are non-crimping though) you could remove it easily, I really doubt the dealer would notice a .5mm cut in the insulation, but who knows...

/me dusts off the 2000 helms integra supplement...
According to the 200 supplement, nothing on the 25P is for O2. You should have 4 connectors, one of which should be 16P, have no fear though, they aren't there either
32P connector (AKA Connector A):
Terminal #: 23
Wire Color: BLU/RED
Terminal Name: SHO2S (Secondary Heated Oxygen Sensor, Sensor 2)
Description: Detects secondary heated oxygen sensor (sensor 2) signal.
31P connector (AKA Connector C):
Terminal #: 16
Wire Color: WHITE
Terminal Name: PHO2S (Primary Heated Oxygen Sensor, Sensor 1)
Description: Detects primary heated oxygen sensor (sensor 1) signal.
If that didn't change between 2000 and 2001 then that should be it. To find out for sure, use a multimeter and tap into the wire and check the voltage, should be low (less than 1-1.5v iirc.. not 100% sure though, the helms will say for sure)
(EDIT
ok voltages are: With throttle fully opened from idle with fully warmed up engine, above .6V, with throttle quickly closed: below .4V.
That's for both Pri and Sec of course.
