Idle is F'd, but I think it's a good thing.
Help me out folks. I cranked up the car this morning and the rpms jumped straight to 2K and stayed there and would idle at 1200rpm while in gear. After driving for a while the rpms would bounce between 1-2K when I stopped the car.
Somebody correct me if I'm wrong, but I think I've got a bad IACV. If you agree that this is probably my problem, then I've got one more question for you. From what I've read, when the IACV goes bad, the ECU dumps more fuel into the engine. I've just rebuilt my engine and bumped the CR. I was wondering if I was getting enough fuel. Well with this idle/rpm problem and the extra fuel, my car runs like a bat out of hell; much better than it had been running. I'm taking the car to the shop tomorrow to get this thing fixed, but did this help me find out that I need to upgrade my fuel system?
Thanks in advance for any help you can give.

It's probably more accurate to say the IACV dumps more air into the engine. It can stick open (extra air) or stick closed (not enough). Or the FITV can let too much or too little air in. Or any other vacuum leak...
Then the ECU sees this from the MAP sensor, and the O2 sensor, & whatever else. So the ECU responds by adding what it thinks is the correct amount of fuel.
