sup fellas, my friend is selling his aem cai with roughly 10,000 miles on it. He offered me 120 dollars. Is that a good deal? He said he cleaned it with the k&N filter charger and everything, and he'd install it for me too.

Is there any benefits of buying a new one? I've seen his and it looks basically brand new. I know the filter isn't new, but does the K&N Filter charger actually work? Or would i get better results just buying a new cai?

 

Not really as long as his is in good shape. The filter charger is just what you use to clean the filter. You should do that ever so often. I'd buy you'll save a few bucks.

 

Try and get him to sell it for $100 or even less maybe, and mileage isn't a factor just be sure that the filter is in good shape.

 

i see, well dang it i just found out the one he had was chrome. I really like the red one. Part of the reason why i want the aem over comptech is cause of it's looks.

 

Well if it's chrome, it's probably not an AEM CAI; probably some knock-off. AEM only comes in silver, blue, and red.

 

Inspect it carefully first, then check if it has been worn out in any areas due to rubbing (ie..ac lines)....etc. Second, as mentioned above the AEM does NOT come in chrome, it does come in silver and this would be a dead giveaway that it is a knockoff. Unless you refer to silver as chrome that is....
