Default Difference 'tween cheapy and name brand filter...

So I go to this speed shop to get a new aem filter and had the clerk guy swear up and down that his twenty dollar filter was just as good as the sixty dollar aem one... I think he got a little mad cuz i would not listen to him.... I askes why they would sell a filter for sixty bucks if it was no better than a generic one..... I dunno maybe he was right.... I just cant believe a no name brand filter is as good as aem...

Its usually the materials used. The AEM and K&N keep the intake well filtered while still allowing lots of air through. Others have higher flow but you get crap through the filter and its dirty.

Just avoid ones that look flimsy, because they'll rarely last a long time like a name brand will.
