Window Tint
Hey Everyone -
I just bought a black 99 prelude. As of right now it has no tint on the windows. I Was just wondering what everyones opinion on tint was. Really I am looking for ideas on how dark to tint it. I live in Kentucky so the darkest I can go legally is 25% in the back and 35% in the front. I was thinking of just going 35% all around. Do you guys think this will be too light? I know its a matter of personal opinion I was just curious what everyone else had on theirs.
Thanks,
-Jeff

For future reference, questions like this should go in the apperance and cosmetic forum.
To me, 35% is kinda light. If you do alot of daytime driving, and not alot of nighttime driving I would go with the darkest you can legally. If the cops around your neck of the woods are strict, I would adhere to their guidelines. If not, check with your insurance agent, as some companies have limits they set for how dark you can go. They can deny your claim if your found in violation of these limits. So be careful.
I used to have 5% on my Accord, it was pretty dark at night, and was kinda a pain to backup, but in the FL sun it helped tremendously. I'm waiting for the tint on my Prelude to go totally shitty before I redo it, and when I od I'm prolly gonna go with 5% again.

i want to get 35% all around on my black lude because it isnt too dark so the cops wont be on my nuts all the time and it still looks pretty nice. I wouldnt get different percentages on the front and back, to me that doesnt look as clean as if it were the same all around.

here in cali. its illegal to have any tint on the front windows (outside of stock). so, im actually a fan of that light blue tint all them BMW cars have. anyone know what im talking about? it doesnt look like dark blue. its a really light baby blue.
please... you have a reptile, and an American Indian (which you get sued for yearly.)
You can't beat "Tiger" the golden eagle as a mascot. We own all.
Actually, rights groups TRY to sue us, we are embraced by the Seminole community, they come to the home games, and at the first game they always have some seminole ceremony.
Why doesnt Auburn choose a mascot, then you can devote the rest of your time to winning national championships.

I had my tinting put on a couple of months ago in order to protect my interior. I don't know the exact percentage, but I decided to do all of the windows the same percent. I also got the Platinum Plus film, which gives the tinting a slight metallic look. It's definitely not that irradescent silver tinting.
For you, it all depends on what you like. Here in Florida the sun beats down very hard, so it's necessary to have a dark tinting. You may want to ask the expertise of those who will be tinting your car. They should have a pretty good idea. Good luck!

''They were tougher than us tonight and killed us on the special teams battle. It is frustrating. Rex (Grossman) made some great throws on this windy night but a couple of them down the right sideline just didn't make it. We couldn't run the ball either. They really stuffed us. They were definitely the best team out there. We just aren't that good yet, but give Auburn credit. They beat us. We had a chance to win the game, but we made mistakes. Those were some of the worse running attempts that we have had in a while.
''Maybe it was just the media attention that got to us. We thought that we could just show up, but we didn't execute. Once again, give Auburn credit. They beat us tonight. They were definitely the best team tonight.''

Go with the 5% because in Texas and whever you are, you'll really need it.
