Default Rotor retaining screw

How do you get to this? I'm looking at my helms and im staring at the rotor and i cant see how it comes off. Do I have to remove the plastic cover next to the rotor?

Does the screw come up from the bottom?

TIA.

You can't remove the plastic cover until you remove the rotor.

You have to rotate the rotor so that the screw is exposed on the back side where there's an open area on teh plastic cover.

Just turn the car over until the retaining screw is visible. It should be pointing towards the firewall if I'm not mistaken.

What ever you do, tighten that screw properly. I had the screw come loose and rattle around. It cracked the case on the ignition control module. Cost from the dealer: $291 CAD for the module. The look on their face when I told them to **** off: priceless
I am still driving around with a slightly messed up ICM, just gonna buy a used disty for about $200 CAD and use the ICM. The worse part is the damn disty has to come out to swap the ICM, so I gotta go borrow a timing light to set my timing

It will not be 100% accurate, but you can scribe marks on the distributor housing so you know how far to rotate the distributor when you reinstall it. Your timing may not be spot-on, but if your marks are accurate enough, I'd be surprised if you're off by more than 1 degree either way. It would be good enough that you could take your time finding a timing gun to borrow.

My ignition coil took a crap last week coming home from the track. I was stranded on the side of the turpike for 3 hours, and had to have the car towed to a friend's father-in-law's house to make the repair. I got a replacement and fixed it in the wee hours of the next morning, and was back at the track for the afternoon sessions. Honda ignition systems blow. Good luck fixing yours.

I'm about to do this myself. Should locktite be put on the treads to make it more secure, or will a good tightening down do the trick?????
