I was just wondering, which shocks are better KYB AGXs or Tokico Illuminas? Its weird because the AGXs have 4 way in front and 8 in the back. Does that mean the rear shocks are weaker?

 

the KYB AGX are a pretty good shock. they have treated me very well wiith no problems. the max lowering on those shocks are something like 1.5 inches. well that's what AGX will cover with the warranty. about the dampening, they are only 4 way adj. in front and 4 way adj. in back, well at least on my 95 ex coupe. hope that helps.

 

Koni Sports (yellow) are better than both of those.. but if you don't plan on auto-x or track racing, I don't think you 'll see much difference between AGX & Illuminas. Keep in mind both of these shocks are limited to about 400lb spring rates so if you wanted to go up to 450-600lb custom coilover springs, you 'd have to get Koni yellows or other more expensive shocks.

i run the tokico shocks with my pro kits. they work great as long as you don't need any adjusting (ie autoX)

 

KYB AGX for sure.....KYB is a big name on making hydraulic stuff and shocks/struts in Japan. Tokico are no good they blow within a pretty short time, just like GAB.
