Default Can only rev to 5000rpm

I just had a gsr swap done and I am waiting on my obd1 computer and harness. For the time being I am using my stock 99 civic ex computer. Is that the reason I can only rev to 5000rpm? Or is something wrong? Please help.

yeah, more than likely... I don't think the ECM allows for the secondary butterflies to open, hence limiting your revolutions.

your car is probly on Limp mode. Get the correct ECU and you should be fine.

no sorry, the butterflies have nothing to do with how the engine revs.

his ecu is running in limp mode for some reason.
