Tears of Joy – Fresh Paint on my R and NO MORE SCHOOL!
I’m done with college and my car has been returned to nearly show room perfection – two things to be happy about! I got my car back from the body shop this week.
After thousands of highway miles to and from school the front end of my car was showing its age. So I had a local body shop, Crystal Auto Body, here in Milwaukee repaint my entire front end and my rear bumper. My rear bumper had a small scar from some unknown punk who backed into me so I had that fixed too. Wow, they did a good job. I am SOOO happy to see it looking so good after all these years. For the time being there are no door dings, dents, or rock chips! Not bad for a three year old car with 64,000 miles. Well, I just wanted to share the beauty with everyone. Sorry I did not have her ready in time for the Chicago BBQ.
This is a picture of my hood!!! (And there is NO wax on it yet since it's new paint)

Here’s another hood shot

Oh, and here’s the tech part – I installed a manual antenna switch today. I only listen to CD’s so the antenna will be down most of the time.

My friend Jerry (WalkmanX) was the one who gave me the idea. This link will give you the details.

Ooooohhhhh Ahhhhhh, looks so good!
Antenna switch is a great idea, that thing is super annoying now that my interior is stripped

Spray those fender liner down with degreaser to get that dirt and grime off and wipe them clean.
Then apply some of those tire shine compound to it. Not to much as it'll bling, but just enough so it would look nice.
Looks like you went rallying.
As for your tech...I was thinking about putting a switch in there too for my CD player. After serious contemplation, I came to the conclusion that since I rode around town with a gutted interior and no a/c - p/s, I don't need no stinkin radio! So a blockoff plate is coming.

paint job looks great!! What kind of radio do you have? The switch is a great idea, but mine automatically goes down when i switch to CD. I have an Alpine by the way.
josh,
your car looks awesome! i probably never mentioned this before, but i have to say that having seen your car a long time ago on your early website inspired me to get an itr. i too have a black one (but instead with nbp). you keep your car in tip-top shape and it does not go unnoticed!
congratulations on finishing school, and more importantly
bringing your car back to bling status.
keep up the good work!
kepani-who still thinks the black ones are special

Thanks for the good words guys. I need to thank YOU for keeping me sane while at school. I went to a school (good school) in the middle of the corn fields in Indiana. The only vehicles you could see in nearby towns were trucks with hydraulics and Junker neon’s and cavilers’ with chrome rims, neon lights, and rattling trunks with the worst DIY sub installs in the world. Being able to talk with you guys about car stuff helped me survive!

That should do the job. I'll give that a shot.

I still have the stock head unit even though I have aftermarket speakers and amp. Once the stock one gets crappy on me I'll look into something new.

Hey Josh that's great news, just wanna tell you that I've been to your site many times about 1 1/2 years ago, I was there checking the reviews, stats and pictures and the site was a big influence on the purchase of my ITR
