Default What is the going rate for a custom cage????

I am about to get a cage put in my car and was wondering what everyone pays??? I was quoted $950 for a custom bent and mig welded mild steel 8 point. $50 bucks extra each side to go through the dash and finish with rubber grommets. Add $350 to the above for chromoly and tig welding. So my total is $1400....does that sound about right??

mine is only a 4 point bar, but i paid 140 for the bars and hoop and 100 for shipping. my father and myself welded it in so my grand total was 240. and it looks very clean. AME has pretty good deals on cages and bars if you can do the welding yourself

Well it looks like the price is right about where it should be. As far as the AME bars go, the factory is right around the corner from my girls house. I was originally going to go with them but this guy said he could bend me a much cleaner one for a similiar price. Thanks for the help guys. I will post up pics when it is done.

125 per point for cromoly is about the average.

very true....custom cages can be made to fit tghter and have more clearance from the driver, which equals more safety
