THe logic that I had in mind was that a 4-puck clutch has only 4 areas of contact that have a total surface area less than that of a full face clutch. Now, providing that the clamping force of the pressure plate is equal for both cases of the 4-puck clutch and the full-faced clutch....the 4-puck clutch will have a total clamping pressure equal to the full-faced clutch, but it will be spread out over a smaller area. The gist of it is that the 4-puck has less surface area to distribute the force of the clamping pressure provided by the pressure plate. Think about like a bed of needles. Maybe somebody else has a better analogy...I was thinking along the lines of picking up things with your hand, but I think the analogy would have been too obscure.
Picking up things with your hand...then picking up things with your fingers?
Just playin...I know what you mean though. So the 6 puck would grab more because it has 6 concentrated areas of pressure? So it's kinda like the same deal w/ the brakes...a 4 piston caliper and a 1 piston caliper?
