Default OT: ITR Road Trip

87.4 gallons of gas: $146

1 speeding ticket: ~$150

1 Fix-It ticket: $10

Going 2,513 miles in 41 hours and 7 minutes (with stops) by yourself: Priceless

Even though the ITR is tuned for racing and tweaked, the car is just as reliable as any other Honda. Going 90 through the desert, the temperature needle never budged. I averaged 28.75 miles to the gallon with a fully loaded car with the A/C on the entire time. I averaged a touch over 61.1 mph including stops and 73.5 without. I think I could have done it faster, but I got the ticket before I even killed my first tank of gas, it was probably for the better though. Total driving time was 34 hours and 9 minutes.

Just though I would share.

I'll take the traffic school, and no points.

Otherwise it would be 1 point.

It was bound to happen, and it could have been worse, so I won't complain too much.

Right on, good trip.

I was thinking of a road trip from AZ to NY in the fall, but now with my transfer I'll be trailering the ITR to NY. Glad to hear the ITR was decent for such a trip.

points shouldnt come off your license if it was out of city limits. They just passed a new law, that you just have to pay for the ticket, if its at least 2 miles outside the city limits.Look into this

85 in a 70, although I need to find out how he came up with that, because it isn't correct. I think he guessed!

Funny, I'd make some joke about that front end not helping you, but it came with it, huh?

I'll be back end of July.. we should have a meet in the beginning of August.

And the car is sitting on about 43.5k miles.

Chris, who went to go get a filter but the dealership was closed - and then found out his friend just wrecked her Dad's 01 3.5 RL

I will, thanks for the heads up. It was all the way out towards Needles... I hope I don't have to drive back out there just for the ticket... I'm pretty sure I don't though.

Lemme know when it's ready, maybe we can get Brandon down and perhaps even the crazy Paki from Detroit!?

I'm sure a few others would show up.. I think I read somehting about a meet in Virginia.. though I'm not eager to drive without the V1 on..

I still love the V1, I think either the cop guessed my speed or maybe an airplane caught me? I dunno.

I'll organize another Aliso meet if I have to... hopefully the next one will be as successful as the first one I organized. Hopefully we'll have it in early/mid August.

Yea, you'd be surprised what the ITR is capable of with the A/C on...

30 is pretty damn good though!

My best tank, I got 394.8 miles on about 12-12.5 gallons, which is 32-33 mpg!!! I couldn't believe it! and that was averaging 73 mph on that tank. I think it was because I was drafting behind a big rig going about 90 for half of that tank! Of course I also slept in the car for 2.5 hours on that tank with the engine and A/C on... the passenger seat is more comfortable than it looks! I think I could have hit about 420-430, but I didn't want to risk it, being in the middle of no where and all..
