Default type s cams help

just recieved my type s cams today, i am putting them in my jdm h22, when comparing the two side by side, how come the jdm h22 stock cams are bigger than the type s, i measure it also, the jdm cam is a litter bigger still, anyone have any clue, or experence this also??? is there any way for me to tell the difference between the two??? the type s has a little metal mark near the #1 side of the camshaft, don't know if that mark is to tell the difference between both of those, anyone have type s cams, help me out, thanks

your stock JDM camshaft VTEC lobes should be SMALLER than the type S VTEC lobes. You will recognize the VTEC lobes because they are the larger lobes on the camshafts.

compare them side by side and if the VTEC lobes on the 'type S' camshafts are smaller than the VTEC lobes on your stock cams, then you were probably ripped off.

put a micrometer on the lobes, then you'll know if they are really type-s cams

jacklee,

you've posted this same question in four different topics. I responded accurately to your first topic, so I'll repeat what I said then, then I'm not going to reply any more.

"You need to get a set of calipers and measure the height of the vtec lobes.

The height of the Type S cam lobes should be something like 1.5 mm higher...than your stock camshaft vtec lobes."

As far as I know, there are no part numbers stamped on the camshaft. If there are, you need to go down to your local honda dealer and ask the parts department where you will find a part number on the camshaft.

I don't think any answer is going to get better than mine, other than the "1.5" above being inaccurate. Please don't continue to post this same question.

kotetu is right you have to measure otherwise you won't know the difference.
