Default what to use to seal tranny????

I will be taking my tranny apart tomorrow and was wondering if I have to seal it up with something. and does anyone know the torque spec for the bolts that hold the casing together

hondabond just costs too much

though if i was putting 500 dollars worth of tranny parts in.
I'd pop 10 bucks for honda-bond. Cant beat OEM

honda bond for 10 bux ****. here honda charges 19 bux for it.

Ouch, $12 here but I get a discount from a buddy so only $10.

I pay $17.00 but Honda Bond is all I use... That other cheap stuff smells like ****, haha Peace

If you plan to pull the tranny apart alot of times use a very thin application of Hylomar (the blue gooey stuff). With Hylomar you don't have to scape it off the reseal it as it is non-hardening. It just wipes off.

Otherwise Honda bond or permatex ultra blue is cool.

Note: Do NOT use 20ft-lbs on the 12mm tranny case bolts. This will stretch the bolts and you never reach that torque reading. The torque figures in the Helms manual is usually too high.

I use 18ft-lbs dry or 16ft-lbs if you get hondabond or silicone on the threads.
