Hey peeps, i posted yesterday that my car sux...
as stated above, well now i keep finding **** wrong with it, there was a little problem with the front bumper being loose, well i thought it got fixed, well its really fucked up, i took it to a local shop called sound blazers to get fixed and it is its nice and tight, just off a bit, getting to the point i had ordered clear corners and well the drivers side, the side that was fucked up, doesnt fit nice at all, this car is pissing me off, missing screws here, missing parts there, having drilled holes everywhere from when the guy tried to fix my bumper. what you guys think sell it and find another lude or keep it and just try my hardest not to kill it and try to fix it up. i like it, but i just cant stand it having so much wrong with it, my friends say keep it and fix it but it needs so much to be looking nice i need a new paint job and all dings taken out, security system, windows tinted, new stereo, new speakers, rims, new engine(h22), exhaust, it goes on,oh yeah i forgot the intermittent wiper setting doesnt work, the steering wheel shakes likea crazy **** when i slow down at any speed, and the interior dome light dont work.what you guys think.tia btw 95 prelude s with cai, clear corners, super white headlights, new tires,
i'm not sure what your question is? should you buy a new car? i don't know do you like projects, can you do the work yourself? did you want answers to the problems you are having with the car. if you are mechanically inclined then keep it, if you just want something to drive and occasionally dump money into (i.e. have someone do the work for you) then a get a new car.
dont get me wrong i love preludes, just not mine, im not mechanically inclined but i can get around yes i like project but this one might kill me, if i had enought money i could fix it up the way i want, just wondering what you guys think i should do find a better lude or keep it.
Sometimes you buy something good, sometimes you don't.
Do you really feel you want to sell it or not??? Maybe if you put a little money in it, the car might bond with you and you might enjoy your prelude after all.
Any way, go check you car out from top till bottom, with someone who knows alot about preludes, and see if it's worth your while.
Good luck

Yeah, but look at all the problems you are having with it right now. It will only get worse.
I thought the same thing. I bought a 1992 Prelude Si 4WS. It needed a lot of work. It needed a new tranny, clutch, axles, exhaust, downpipe, tires, headlight, battery, brakes, rotors, and windsheild. Fortunately, I bought it for $1800. After replacing all these parts..I am in the hole $3700 in parts alone and the 4WS is still giving me trouble.
I am not too upset about changing these parts but it is getting a little too much to spend on a 1992 car. I am not modding the car any more.
I guess it all boils down to if you can justify putting A LOT of $$ into a car that has a high likelihood of having more problems.
Just my opinion though.

Mine was like yours too. Well, I payed it off. So instead of going and getting something new, I took out a $6000 signature loan. This is how it was spent:
$2650 -
JDM H22a
(under 30k) Axels, ECU... EVERYTHING!!
$300 Engine install (got hooked up
)
$150 Neuspeed Sport Springs - Aggressive stance, better than stock and smoooooth!
$450 Slotted Rotors and organic metal pads (from shaky steering wheel to PERFECT!)
$2000 3 peice mid wing and milano red paint job - *BLING*
$600 Found a PERFECT black leather interior outa a 96 in a salvage yard - Door panels and everything!!
Had to throw in a little extra change, but....
sweeeeeeet
Now I gotta 92 lude with an odometer that read 285K and drives like NEW!! Gotta few squeekitty squeeks that Im huntin down still.... but I love my car! Payment is only $135 a month for 4 yrs. I'm tryin to pay it off sooner though.
Something to think about - Good luck!!!!!!!

I dunno dude, a lot of the things that you say you "need" sound a lot like WANTS to me. Ok, paint job and dings, I'm with you. Wipers, freaky steering, H22 swap, ok I get it. The rest of that **** is bling and flossy and all that, but it isn't really necessary, is it? I myself do consider a built block, a phat turbo/naaawwzz set-up, a metallic pearl white paint job and a set of MF-10's necessities, but I know that they're really not.
If you'd said that black smoke was pouring out of the dashboard at WOT, the steering wheel was held on with twisty-ties, you could see the ground through the floorboards like the Flintstones and small families of rodents were living in your wheelwells, ok I'd tell you to trash it and buy something else. But that isn't really the case, is it?
Weigh it out and determine if you can afford to fix what you can and live with the rest. To some extent, all of us with limited funds have to do that, no matter what type/gen your car is.

Sounds like a lot of things need to be done.. but if you think it's worth the time and effort, or whatever you decide.. good luck
