Ok my buddy with a h22 Civic(ek22tim). Is having 5th dreaded 5th gear grind! I was SO impressed with what it has done for me. Completely ilimited the grind. Now the only reason that we have not tried it on his car is the fact that he has a LSD. And to my knowledge is that it is a Clutch pack LSD. Now to my understanding this GM Syncromesh was started with the NSX guys and then to the ITR guys. Now both of them come equipped from the factory with that same style LSD. Does anyone see a problem with trying this?

I dont see why there would be, I need to pick this up myself. I am getting a good old nice *sarcasim* 3 to 4th gear grind at higher rpms.

sorry to play stupid here, but what is syncromesh, and what does it do to the honda LSDs?

 

synchromesh is a transmision fluid from GM that seems to work wonders with honda transmission. Ecspecialy those that are having grinding issues due to synchros. As best I know it can be picked up at any GM dealership and is great stuff. I know a bunch of DSM guys and gals that use it in addition to Honda folks. The oriaganal post was asking if it would be safe to use this fluid with the H22a JDM lsd transmission as it is a clutch pack type of lsd.

Is the clutch pack lsd the same as a helical? I know my euro r h22 is helical lsd equiped and I'm going to be putting syncromesh in her in a couple weeks.

 

Thanks for the explanation. So does this stuff interfere with the working of the clutch packs on the Honda LSDs?

 

So does the H22a come with a Clutch pack or a gear set?
